    TITLE 2. CALIFORNIA TRAVEL ANDTOURISM COMMISSION

    NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND THECONFLICTOFINTEREST CODE OF THE

    CALIFORNIA TRAVEL & TOURISMCOMMISSION

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the CALIFOR-NIA TRAVEL & TOURISM COMMISSION, pur-suant to the authority vested in it by section 87306 of theGovernment Code, proposes amendment to its con-flictofinterest code. A comment period has been es-tablished commencing on SEPTEMBER 8, 2017 andclosing on OCTOBER 23, 2017. All inquiries shouldbe directed to the contact listed below.

    The CALIFORNIA TRAVEL & TOURISMCOMMISSION proposes to amend its conflictofinterest code to include employee positions that involvethe making or participation in the making of decisionsthat may foreseeably have a material effect on any fi-nancial interest, as set forth in subdivision (a) of section87302 of the Government Code. The amendment car-ries out the purposes of the law and no other alternativewould do so and be less burdensome to affectedpersons.

    Changes to the conflictofinterest code include:The adding of new positions which involve making orparticipating in decisions which may foreseeably have amaterial impact on a financial interest, current designat-ed positions needing renaming or deletion and alsomaking other technical changes.

    The proposed amendment and explanation of the rea-sons can be obtained from the agencys contact.

    Any interested person may submit written commentsrelating to the proposed amendment by submitting themno later than OCTOBER 23, 2017, or at the conclusionof the public hearing, if requested, whichever comeslater. At this time, no public hearing is scheduled. A per-son may request a hearing no later than OCTOBER 13,2017.

    The CALIFORNIA TRAVEL & TOURISMCOMMISSION has determined that the proposedamendments:1. Impose no mandate on local agencies or school

    districts.2. Impose no costs or savings on any state agency.3. Impose no costs on any local agency or school

    district that are required to be reimbursed underPart 7 (commencing with Section 17500) ofDivision 4 of Title 2 of the Government Code.

    4. Will not result in any nondiscretionary costs orsavings to local agencies.

    5. Will not result in any costs or savings in federalfunding to the state.

    6. Will not have any potential cost impact on privatepersons, businesses or small businesses.

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the CaliforniaDepartment of Human Resources, pursuant to the au-thority vested in it by section 87306 of the GovernmentCode, proposes amendments to its conflictofinterestcode.
