IntroductionRose Radiology operates 11 locations throughout the
greater Tampa Bay, Florida, area. Each Rose Radiology office functions under the guidance of a board-certified radiologist and offers a wide range of services, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). When preparing for an MRI appointment, individuals need to keep their meals leading up to the procedure light and avoid the intake of caffeine. Individuals should take all of their required medications according to their normal schedule.
Before coming in for an MRI appointment, individuals need to keep a few important points in mind.
MRI ExamFirst, pacemakers and similar devices can
sustain significant damage from the scanner so individuals should discuss options with a qualified professional. Also, individuals with kidney disease need to complete blood work before the scan and a minimum of 48 hours is needed before individuals can take the injection required for an MRI.
Patients over the age of 65 or who have diabetes also need to have blood work done at least 48 hours before the procedure.
