Equal Remuneration Project Communiqué No. 6 – Salary Census Launch Community Sector Salary Census 2012 The Tasmanian Government Community Sector Salary Census starts today, Monday 23 July 2012 and closes on Wednesday 8 August 2012. You can download the Salary Census documents from the DHHS website. The documents you will need are the: Salary Census Data Collection Tool Salary Census Data Guide We are also developing a Salary Census Scenario to provide tangible examples of the answers. This will be available either today or tomorrow on the project website. It is essential that staff completing the Salary Census read through the Data Guide before attempting to answer the questions. We are aware that it will not be a simple process to collate your information and complete the Salary Census. Our test group seem to think that this would be 2-3 days of effort for a medium sized organisation with multiple service types. Information sessions We are also encouraging organisations to attend an information session about the Salary Census. The sessions will run for 90 minutes and provide an explanation about each of the Census questions. There will be time in each session for you to ask questions. Any advice we provide in response to these questions will be placed onto a frequently asked questions page on the project website . If you wish to attend an information session please email [email protected] to reserve your place. The subject line of your email should read “Information Session – Date, Location”, for example Information Session – 25 July, Hobart. You can nominate up to two days before the session, but it will be a case of first come, first served depending on the venue size. Area Venue Date 23 July 2012

Further supportAs outlined in the Data Guide, your first point of contact if you have any further questions is the project website, particularly the regularly updated frequently asked questions page. The second point of contact is your Contract Manager within DHHS, or the Agency that funds you. Since they have an understanding of your organisation they are the best people to ask about how the question applies to you.If you cannot get in contact with your contract manager, the TasCOSS Industry Development Unit is available to answer questions during the Census period. Please call Dale Rahmanovic on 6231 0755 or 0419 557 854.As a final option you can contact the Project Manager, Kylie Dunn, on 6233 4054. Please note that Kylie is running the information sessions so you will not get her on those days.
