Introduction PageBrief Overview

Creativity is acknowledged as fostering cultural, social as well as economic gains

Harnessing Creativity is a cross border project, celebrating and enhancing creative and business talent throughout Leitrim, Fermanagh, Tyrone and surrounding Counties. The project, delivered by Leitrim County Enterprise Board, in co-operation with its partners, offers a number of capacity building activities including training, master classes, mentoring.

90 wider business participants • 35 open invitation Master classes per cycle –

exploring new applications processes and techniques

• Target of over 80 workshops and classes plus one-to- one mentoring and support for business promotion

• 3 Creative Labs per cycle - total of 90 participants

• 2 regional showcase events and touring exhibitions - target attendance of 1600 people

• Tour of concept exhibition to 6 further locations

• Creative Labs call for participants: 15 March 2013- submission date 22nd April, labs start up early May 2013

Benefits of the project at a local authority level

Capacity Building Activities throughout the project linking 7 project partners over 3 local authorities.•Harnessing Creativity has the underlying aim of catalysing and harnessing the creative sector community as a driver for innovation and growth within the wider economy of the ICBAN region.•To contribute to stronger linkages beyond the region as a beacon for creative excellence to attract potential visitors, investors, open up to new markets & creative business.•Shared learning between the project partners and participants•Being creative from top to bottom, project steering group will think creatively around how to build and support creative energy on the ground.•To encourage and enable connections, collaborations and networking throughout the region and beyond which will have a legacy after the project.•To think in new ways about local resources and how they can be used to articulate the true essence of the region in marketing the products of the region itself.

The Vision To complement ‘Knowledge Transfer’ and traditional R+D with ‘Creativity Transfer’ to drive a greater level of innovation and unlock new sources of added value (delivering values as well as value) To help the creative sector become better at business, and the business sector to become better at creativity For Local Authorities and Enterprise Agencies to learn how to support and use creativity for regional development as a cross-border capacity To foster an internationally recognised creative region
