• Approx. 28 titles in this opening sequence

• Mostly consists of the main actors and the main job titles, such as direction, producer, music by and writers

THE PURGE (2013)

• Approx. 22 titles are included in the opening credits of this film

• Again, the actors’ names are stated first, followed by the job titles. E.g. producer, writer, director, costume designer, music by, etc.

FINDINGS

I have found that I will need to start off my opening credits with the title of the film and the production company.

After this, it is common to add in the actors’ names, usually in the order of the most important to the least (main characters)

Then, it is common to include the job titles and the people that have worked in the film in the next minute or so of the opening credits

Some of these job titles include: director, producer, writer, costume designer, music by, casting director and production design, amongst many others.

I have found that it is usually shown within 1-2 minutes and they can be shown against a blank screen or with images behind them (which is probably more suited for a thriller film).
