Revit installation via students.autodesk.com

01. Login with your Autodesk account, or to create a new account click on ‘Register’.

02. Use your @student.tudelft.nl e-mail adress to register.

You can check what you e-mailaddress is at https://e-service.tudelft.nl

After registering you will receive an activation e-mail. Click the link to verify your e-mail adress and complete the registration.

03. Click on ‘Free Software’ to see thelist of available software.

04. In the software list select the ‘Autodesk Revit ’ section. Select the 2014 version and click Next, select ‘English’ and select Windows 32/64bit. Click Next.

You need at least 8 Gigabyets of free harddisk space to be able to unpack and install the software. After the installation, about 2 Gigabytes will be used.___________________________________________Experts only:If you save and unpack the installation files to a different hard disk than the one you install your software on (typically C:), you only need 2 GB of free space on the installation harddisk and about 6 on the disk where your installation files are saved.

Architecture students download/install only Autodesk Revit ... DO NOT download/install any of the other three Revit versions (Architecture, Structure or MEP) !!!

05. The serial number and the product key are displayed. You will need the serial number and the product key for the installation of Revit. So now is a good moment to write them down.

06. Choose ‘Browser Download’ to get the Revit installation file. Downloading can take some time, depending on your internet connection. Using a wired internet connection is recommended.

07. When downloading is complete, start the Revit 2014 installation application. You can choose the location for the (temporary) installation files. The default location is usually fine. Click ‘OK’.

08. After the installation files are unpacked, you will see the installation screen shown below. The initialization takes a moment. Then the second screen apears. Click ‘Install’.

09. Accept the license agreement and click ‘Next’. 10. Enter the serial number and product key from step 5.

11. Hover your mouse over the downwards arrow underneath Autodesk Revit 2014 (see below) and click the ‘Configure’ option. The configure section unfolds.

Configuring Revit installationDepending on your regional settings some libraries may or may not be installed automatically. It’s very important to install the correct libraries, otherwise some basic elements may not be available.

To make sure that you have the correct libraries installed, we are going to configure it manually in the next steps!

12. Make sure that the following content is selected:

United Kingdom, US Metric. Deselect US-Imperial (metric is 10x better)

13. Scroll down and set ‘US Metric’ as the default content.

14. Scroll down and select ‘Include Service Pack from Autodesk.com’ (if applicable) and click ‘Download’ to download the servicepack if there is one.

17. Selected components are being installed. This may take a while.

18. When done, click ‘Finish’. Revit is now installed on your computer. You may delete the installation files, or archive them for future use.

19. The installation is almost complete. When you start Revit for the first time, you need to activate your license. The next steps describe this process.

15. Click ‘close and return to product list’. 16. Back in the ‘Configure Installtion’ window, make sure all components are selected and click ‘Install’.

I. Start Revit. You need to activate your license. Click “I Agree” to continue.

II. You need to be connected to the internet to verify your license. This may take a short while.

III. When the verification is successful, you’ll see the following confirmation screen. Click Close. You can now use Revit.
