Case Study 1

Your new build block of flats

Then there’s the snagging list, the cost, the heartache and the stress,

then there’s still the building

Page 7: Title The Future of Fire Risk Management Practical Fire Risk Assessment & the Future

Case Study 1

Newly built block of flats, we supported the owner, who had taken occupation 3 month previous, and the builder, who attended a meeting to explain why the building was built correctly.

Case Study 1Newly built block of flats, we supported the owner, who had taken occupation 3 month previous, and the builder, who attended to explain why the building was correct.

The gas intake room for each of the flats was designated and used as the communal bin store, there is a smell of gas.

As this is a new build, all fire doors should have been installed to FD30S standard; which requires Intumescent strips and cold

smoke seals in these locations.

Who was checking it was being built correctly along the way?

Case Study 2

Risk Base Passive Fire Inspections

Page 22: Title The Future of Fire Risk Management Practical Fire Risk Assessment & the Future

So when is this not so

important?

Page 23: Title The Future of Fire Risk Management Practical Fire Risk Assessment & the Future

Why so important?

Page 24: Title The Future of Fire Risk Management Practical Fire Risk Assessment & the Future

Risk based approach means you prioritise the

failings in the compartments, unless you can

risk assess those out as

well! Just document it...
