5Augma 1st International Symposium 4

Abstract:In the last few years, with the introduction of biphasic calcium sulfate bone substitutes into the market, a major and significant shift has begun in the way bone is augmented.

Whether it is from the surgical methods used for host site preparation and implantation, to the way the graft is deployed and placed into the site, closure of the graft site, or the healing period and its results; principles that previously served as the basis for these procedures were totally changed and a new world of possibilities has been revealed to us.

The goal of this lecture is to discuss the mechanism of using bone apatite bone graft cement based on literature and clinical experience that was accumulated since the product’s introduction into our clinical lives. This will allow greater understanding of the material’s potential including its limitations, indications, and contraindication and what future potential possibilities are in store for the material in order to facilitate clinical practice and improve the outcome for the patient.

Biography:Dr. Baranès David was born in 1962 and graduated from the Doctorate program in Dental Surgery at the University of Paris 7 in 1987, then completed a C.E.S biomaterials applied to dentistry, before obtaining a C.E.S in Periodontology at the University of Paris 7.

In 1989 Dr. Baranes successfully completed a post-graduate course in implantology (A.U.I) at the PARIS 7 Faculty.

“An in depth understanding of bone cement’s clinical and biological features to maximize surgical

advantages while being aware of its limitations”

Abstract:The success of dental implants depend on the quality and quantity of the recipient site. There are many methods and modalities of bone enhancement. However with reports and concerns over materials, contamination and other health risks, patients and doctors are seeking less invasive materials and protocols. This has led to an increased demand for alternative regenerative materials and protocols such as synthetic bone graft materials and different implant materials.

Polycrystalline bioceramics such as zirconia and synthetic graft materials have emerged as viable and reliable materials for bone regeneration and metal free teeth replacement. This presentation will present a wide range of clinical cases where teeth replacement can be achieved using bioceramics from start to finish.

Learning Objectives:• Understand zirconia as an implantable dental material.

• Evaluating and identifying patients best suited for ceramic implants.

• Understand biotolerance as opposed to biocompatibility.

• Calcium sulfate as a hard tissue regenerative material.

Biography:Sammy Noumbissi obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Howard University in Washington DC. He was then selected to attend the prestigious Loma Linda University Graduate Program in Implant Dentistry. There he received three years of formal training in dental implantology which culminated with a certificate in Implant Dentistry and a Master of Science degree in Implant Surgery. He is a researcher, author and has published abstracts and articles on ceramic implants in peer reviewed dental journals. He lectures nationally and internationally; he is the founder and current president of the International Academy of Ceramic Implantology which is an independent association and education provider exclusively focused on metal free and ceramic implantology. He is a fellow and Ambassador at the Clean Implant Foundation whose mission is to assess production quality and purity of commercially available dental implant surfaces. Dr. Noumbissi has been practicing and educating dentists on metal free implantology since 2009. His practice is located in Silver Spring, Maryland USA.

Abstract:For decades, the sinuses have been considered as an inconvenience or as a limitation to dentists and implantologists. They had the choice to avoid it or to refer the case. So, the maxillary posterior sector was a sensitive and challenging area. In this lecture, you will see and learn that this tricky zone may be modified into a lovely zone ready to receive and accept our implants. After or during the extraction and healing stage, Augma’s Bond Apatite® helps us to correct the osseous defects and to heal the perforated sinus. Moreover, in the premolar zone, the recurrent problem of insufficient bone width will be resolved in at the same time by an apposition with the same graft material. In the second step, the alveolar bone under the sinus bone will offer us the opportunity to choose the vertical sinus lift augmentation or to lead to a lateral sinus graft. This third stage will attest to the ability of the biphasic calcium sulfate augmenting complex bone sinus deficiencies. The mastership of oral surgery is facilitated by using the same material at different steps, offering thereby to the professional, the possibility to treat exploit an area which was not possible forbidden before. From failing teeth to implant surgery, the sinus is no more an obstacle because we do have now, with Augma’s Bond Apatite®, the right material to rebuild, to regenerate and to provide us a bone surface ready for implants. To an implantologist, that really sounds romantic!

Learning Objectives:• Identify the limits of the sinus zone in implant surgery• Evaluate the different ways to overcome the challenges• Discover the functions of calcium sulfate in supporting

vertical and crestal sinus lift

Dead SeaThe Dead Sea known in Hebrew as Yam Ha-Melakh (the Sea of Salt)

is the lowest point on earth, surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Negev Desert. The shores of the Dead Sea are the lowest point on the surface of the planet, and the saline water of the lake give it its name, ‘Dead Sea’ because no fish can survive in the salty waters. The therapeutic benefit of the salty water of the Dead Sea is their renowned health and healing properties and the unique feature that one can float naturally in them.

Tel- AvivTel Aviv is Israel’s second largest city and the country’s cultural and commercial capital.

Named “The Mediterranean Capital of Cool” by the New York Times, Tel Aviv is a city with a savvy attitude and cultural astuteness, “the city which never sleeps,” a center for nightlife, cuisine, culture, and liberalism. Prominent museums, restored neighborhoods such as the ancient Port of Jaffa, Neve

Tzedek and the White City of Bauhaus style buildings, and a young and diverse population, make Tel Aviv a city which you can never want to exploring

EilatEilat, the southernmost city in the country, is considered the undisputed holiday capital of Israel. Geographically, the Gulf of Eilat is located at the edge of a long narrow estuary separating the Arabian Peninsula and the Sinai Desert. As an oasis on the shores of the Red Sea, Eilat provides visitors with a spectacular combination of mountainous desert landscape, a beautiful bay and the summer sun that shines all through the year. Without a doubt, Eilat is one of Israel’s unique cities, and one of the most exclusive resorts in the world, attracting over 3 million visitors a year.

The city offers a fantastic range of hotels to suit any budget, as well as restaurants, VAT FREE shopping, and a vibrant nightlife alongside a variety of attractions aimed to suit all types of vacationers. Eilat is famous for its fantastic diving and a top destination for scuba divers seeking to explore spectacular coral reefs and vibrant marine wildlife. Due to its unique location, Eilat, unlike most resort towns, offers nature lovers a variety of hiking and cycling trails through the beautiful and historic landscapes of the Arava Desert.
