    MORE GIGABYTES FOR THE SAME

    INVESTMENT COST-EFFICIENTLY INCREASE

    YOUR TRANSPORT NETWORK CAPACITY

Higher capacity and lower costWith its unique way to transport and manage large amounts

of traffic, the TM-Series yields unmatched advantages in net-

work economics, both in OPEX savings and low CAPEX.

The seamless mix of layers that the TM-Series enables, brings

    valuable scalability and pay-as-you-grow advantages.

Reconfigurable hardware and dynamic networking via Trans-

modes Flexible Optical Networks, including ROADM techno-

logy, provide vital benefits in flexibility and cost efficiency.

Thanks to its broad range of optics options and integrated

planning & management tools, these networks provide great

    cost benefits over static networks.

Low Power Design benefiting the environmentLow Power Design is Transmodes way to minimize power

consumption throughout its whole product portfolio, while

    simultaneously optimizing environmental performance.

Compact, small-footprint solutions, combined with low-power

components create optical transport solutions with unrivaled

energy efficiency, as defined in Energy Efficiency for Telecom-

    munication Equipment (ATIS-0600015.2009).

It is common knowledge that the explosive growth in high

bandwidth services for residential and business customers

is putting great demands on transport networks.

There are many reasons for this transport overload. Theseinclude the adoption and rise of IPTV, Docsis 3.0, smart-

phones and the mobile Internet. The transfer of information

through huge data centers and communication hubs, as well

as cloud applications that require large flows, low latency

and secure access pipes also contribute to these network

demands. This progress drives the demand for transport

networks that have the capacity and new Quality of Service

(QoS) features that many of the new services require. In order

to address these challenges, many operators recognize the

need to collapse network layers into a single packet-optical

    network.

Transmode has created the TM-Series packet-optical net-

working platform for carrier grade optical transport to meet

these needs. Whether its used to push WDM all the way out

to the cell site in the mobile network, connect enterprises

or the cloud, gain higher performance from fiber links, or toenable efficient distribution of high definition TV (HDTV), the

TM-Series has the flexibility and the functionality it takes to

let your optical network serve you well.

Widely deployed around the world, Transmode solutions

allow operators to affordably increase transport network

capacity, scale the network as needed and develop cost effec-

tive ways to leverage the new revenue streams that todays

and tomorrows services bring. The TM-Series is a packet-

optical platform supporting Layer 0 optical wavelengths to

Layer 2.5 MPLS-TP, using technologies such as Ethernet, OTN,

SDH/ SONET, and Intelligent WDM (iWDM).

    THE CHALLENGE OF

    INCREASING REVENUE,

    NOT COSTS

The TM-Series offers a multitude of options to handle all the

changes that take place in a network over time. These changes

can include sheer growth, increasing capacity and reach,

and providing new services. By offering a choice of transport

technologies such as Ethernet, OTN, SDH/SONET, MPLS-TP

and Transmodes iWDM, operators can address any application

    through one platform.

Focus on applicationsWith its excellent performance, the TM-Series is an ideal plat-

form for a broad range of applications. As an example, mobile

or wholesale operators benefit from outstanding synchroniza-

tion and low latency performance when migrating to 3G, 4G

and LTE technologies. Enterprises and datacenter intercon-

nects can take advantage of the high density and low latency

provided by the TM-Series. Cable operators can profit from

the integration of selected Layer 3 features such as IGMPv3 to

    optimize multicast video distribution.

Everything from metro access to metro coreDue to its flexibility in distance and reach (up to 1500km),

the TM-Series targets networks from metro access to metro

core. The TM-Series DWDM application supports the carrier-

class features required for metro core, whereas the more cost-

efficient CWDM application is better suited for lower capacity

and reach demands, such as in metro access networks.

Capacity up to 100GGranularity in terms of capacity allows the TM-Series to

offer multiple levels of capacity. All standard line rates from

1G to 100G let operators select the capacity to match their

    requirements.

The TM-Series outstandingperformance in sync and lowlatency makes it ideal in a widerange of applications suchas mobile backhaul, cloudnetworking and datacenterinterconnects.

    SCALABILITY AND

    FLEXIBILITY GIVE YOU

    UNLIMITED GROWTH

    POTENTIAL

Theres no doubt that new services enabled by increased band-

width bring new revenue opportunities the challenge is to

capitalize on these cost effectively. The right metro transport

network will ease this evolution, while keeping excessive OPEX

and CAPEX from impacting the business case.

The TM-Series packet-optical platform combines Ethernet

switching with optical transport functionality. It allows

simplified transport network design to provide more flexibilityand reduce the number of physical elements in the network.

The broad range of features supported by Transmodes Ethernet

Muxponder family includes advanced OAM, Service Level

Agreement (SLA) monitoring and Quality of Service (QoS)

over both Ethernet and MPLS-TP services.

Service management is key in packet-opticaltransport networksChallenges such as sophisticated Quality of Service (QoS)

demands, high volume of services, and rapid network changes

demand more sophisticated service management tools.

The Transmode Enlighten multi-layer management suite

supports the capabilities needed to plan, deploy and operate

your TM-Series network. Enlighten gives you the tools re-

quired, including advanced features such as point and clickprovisioning and multi-layer diagnostics over both packet and

    optical layers of the network.

Ethernet Demarcation Unit (EDU5)and Ethernet Muxponder (EMXP40and EMXP80) are parts of the TM-Series Layer 2 product family.

Transmode is a global provider of packet-optical networking solu-

tions that enable fixed line and mobile network operators to cost

effectively address the capacity needs created by the rapid growth

in video and data traffi c. These solutions are important building

blocks in next-generation high-speed optical networks that support

services such as broadband backhaul, mobile data backhaul, video

delivery services and cloud computing. Transmodes solutions are

based on Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) and packet

optical transport technologies, which are designed to increase the

capacity, flexibility and functionality of optical metro core and

metro access networks. Transmodes Intelligent WDM (iWDM)

approach gives key advantages to customers, such as ultra-low

latency, low power consumption and innovative network design.

Transmode is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden and is listed

on the NASDAQ OMX Stockholm Exchange (TRMO). Since 2000,

the company has installed more than 30,000 systems for over 400fixed and mobile network operators, service providers, large enter-
