YOUR JUDGES

JOHN THIRLWELL (Dog Judge)

I started showing in my early teens firstly Irish Setters then in 1976 bought myfirst Welsh Springer Spaniel, from Noel and Dodo Hunton-Morgans, Dalati Gwentwho became my first champion. To date I have owned or bred 38 UKChampions, 34 of which have been Welsh Springers and one each of thefollowing breeds, English & Irish Setter, Pointer & Cocker Spaniel.

I am passed to award Challenge Certificates to all the Gundog Breeds bar 1, andjudge the Group. I look forward to judging dogs at SWWSSC show in March.

BARABRA ATTWOOD (Bitch Judge)

My first Welsh was in 1974, a working boy, after he retired I spent several yearshandling for other people, something I still do, now mainly gundogs back then inthe working/pastoral group. In 1988 after marrying we acquired 2 half-sisters.Solva Brunnhilde and Stormpasture Tudor Slipper who did very well. Ourbreeding/showing really took off with Solva Isolde (thank you Jean) who not onlyproduced lovely pups but also became an Irish Show Champion. Kylowen ouraffix is Cornish for “happy dog” - well I am Cornish and the dogs are very happy! In the past I have shown cows, sheep, horses and with Ken, fish including a CC.Since starting judging welsh in 1995 I have had the pleasure of going over somebeautiful dogs, I am honoured to have been asked to judge at the Club Showand wish everyone and their dogs a happy day.
