ChancellorDr. Ramdas M Pai
It gives me immense pleasure to invite you to our knowledge hub - The Manipal
University, Dubai. With more than six decades of experience in the field of higher education, Manipal University is one of the world’s most renowned institutions. We take great pride to have delivered high-quality yet affordable higher education to more than 28,000 students and 94,000 alumni from across 53 countries around the world. The Manipal educational experience encompasses industry-inspired learning, focus on student outcomes and delivering a holistic student experience. Our success has been built around the group’s values of integrity, fairness and excellence through quality, innovation and leadership, and we strive to nurture the same values in our students.
From our modest beginnings in Dubai in 2000, we have grown into one of the only multidisciplinary universities in the region enrolling students across 25 programs in eight diverse disciplines. Our diversity
in enrollment is testament to the fact that Manipal culture is very inclusive, collaborative, transparent and humane. Our growth has primarily been aligned to the needs of students in the region.
We take pride in our Alumni strength who have graduated from this campus. We believe that they are a critical aspect to improving the relationship between the institute and the industry. Our greatest achievements are our students’ successes, whether in the field of academics, sports or extra curricular activities. We attribute this success to the dedication and commitment of our faculty and administration team and to our emphasis on the quality of teaching and learning.
It would be our privilege to host you, and we are sure you will find it rewarding to visit our campus, interacts with our students and gives them an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and competencies. Our AdministratorsPlacement Message
Dear Recruiters,
At the onset I would like to thank all our existing industry partners for their continued association with us by
recruiting our talent. Last year, 55 companies visited our campus and partnered with us by recruiting our graduates. I take this opportunity to once again invite our existing and potential recruiters & talent seekers for conducting campus selection programmes, from Manipal University, Dubai.
Our institution relentlessly strives towards giving our students “The Utmost for the Highest”. Our focus is to impart quality education and to groom our students to face the challenges of the industry. As the world continues to shrink into a global village, we at Manipal University, Dubai constantly endeavor to incorporate industry inspired curriculum into all our programmes. We believe that every learner has a preferred style of learning and hence our learning modalities are an amalgamation of audio, visual and kinesthetic approaches.
Ever since its inception in 2000, Manipal University, Dubai has grown leaps and bounds, not just in terms of the excellent infrastructure, but also in the tenacity we showcase towards imbibing students of diverse culture. Nearly 20% of our students are from Africa, GCC and Subcontinent, thus a wide range of ethnic, cultural, traditional, educational and work experience amongst our students makes it a vibrant learning community. We are mindful of the role women play in the global workforce and the fact that gender diversity is practiced vigorously in organizations. Hence, as a recruiter you will find 55% of our student community being constituted by females.
We ensure that our students are tested and shaped to perfection, within our University, to stand in good stead when the opportunity knocks. It is known to all that a University surrounding is sheltered and idealistic far away from reality.
Hence, at Manipal we encourage our students to get a taste of the real world by supporting and promoting every opportunity of hands on experience. Internship is a mandated exercise of the curriculum and it is with pride that we indicate 100% feat in this regards. Our placement trend has shown an upward trend with 75% of our students taking up pertinent jobs in the UAE region, while others pursue higher studies. Great emphasis is laid on the holistic development of our students. This we believe has made our 4000+ Alumni acquire valued positions in various organizations at local and global levels.
Our students are ably guided and mentored by the intellectual assets of our University, our esteemed faculty. They are a group of profoundly committed academicians who have to their credit decades of field and academic experience. Most of them are Ph.D. holders making it an un-debatable cause of our Students’ success. The Placement Office runs a Career Development Center with the objective of mentoring and coaching every student. Soft Skills Training, assistance in CV writing, Personality Development Training, Career Counseling Interview Techniques, etc. are some of the regular sessions that the students get to attend.
Our placement brochure will further give you an insight into what Manipal Dubai students have to offer. I hope and trust that the richness of their educational and vocational experience will be of mutual benefit

The BirthThirteen years ago, Manipal was already a respected name in India and the world. It
was only natural that the Group would make its mark in a region that has one of the
highest number of Indian expatriates. With a vision to dispense the kind of top quality
and globally relevant education that a progressive country like UAE deserves, a branch
campus of the Manipal University was opened in Dubai in the year 2000.
Leading from the Front
The JourneyEvery epic journey starts with a small step. Manipal Dubai, too, had humble beginnings with
just 63 students in its first year. Since then, however, the student strength has grown
exponentially, as the university proved its worth and merit. The campus shifted to Dubai
Knowledge Village in 2003 and later to the glitzy Dubai International Academic City in 2006.
In May 2010, work on the university’s new campus commenced. The very next year, the
750,000 sq ft state-of-the-art campus was ready.
The ProgressWherever we go, we make a mark for ourselves. Even in the Middle East, Manipal is the only
Indian multi-disciplinary university in the region. At present, it offers 26 programs in eight
disciplines offering Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral degrees. We also offer Foundation &
Certificate programs. The disciplines include Engineering, Information Technology, Business,
Hospitality & Tourism, Media & Communication, Life Sciences, Design and Architecture.
The MilestonesManipal Dubai’s new campus is among the largest and most advanced campuses in the UAE.
Matching the international status of Dubai, the campus boasts cutting edge laboratories
in disciplines such as Engineering, Biotechnology and Information Technology and is also
home to some of the region’s best studios and workshops for programs in Media &
Communication and Interior Design. The campus also houses a sprawling library, cafeteria
and abundant indoor & outdoor sporting facilities. The alumni base of over 4000 have
excelled at workplaces around the world, bringing laurels to their alma mater.

Placement Committee
• The Placement committee must be informed about the following:
- The available roles within the organization along with a detailed Job Description
- The process of selection, tests, group discussions, other screening activities, that will be undertaken
- The University maintains high standards of hospitality, however we request advance communication on the number of recruiters expected to visit the campus and their requirements for the process. Should there be a need for lodging and conveyance, we will be happy to arrange it
• The Placement Office will source the profiles from the various Schools and soft copies of the resumes can be mailed to the recruiters in advance
• As much as a student looks forward for an interview opportunity, we also believe that he needs to be given constructive feedback on his performance. Therefore, we request the visiting organizations to share the feedback on each candidate either directly with the student or through the placement team
• In case a student is selected, we request the participating organization to share the offer letter through the placement office
• We understand and respect each organization’s career architecture and the packages aligned to each role. Hence, the university will not be involved in any discussions with either parties pertaining to this subject. At the same time we expect that our students are mapped and aligned as per their skills and competencies
• Any communication regarding the placements should only be made through the placement office
The Placement committee is governed by the Placement Officer and senior faculty members. The committee also consists of student representatives from each school. Together, they liaison with various industrial partners and facilitate a seamless recruitment process.
Pre-placement TalksGreat emphasis is laid on ensuring that the recruiting organizations visiting the institute carry out pre-placement talks. We encourage companies to visit our campus and make a presentation before the students. Through these talks the students gain more exposure to the company’s working culture and opportunities for growth, and hence make an informed decision. The companies can also use this as a platform to display their services and products to the students and faculty members.
Recruitment ProcessThe recruitment process can be initiated on mutually identified convenient dates. We are happy to organize the interview process in campus or at the organizations facility.
