NatureTotsThe Cincinnati Waldorf School’s NatureTots class is an opportunity for young children and their parents or caregivers to experience the wonder of Waldorf and the world of nature! This class is structured very much like the Parents & Tots class, except most of the activities will be held outside! The class is held at our beautiful Meshewa campus in Indian Hill. The Meshewa campus is acres of rolling meadows and peaceful woods next to an organic farm. There is a lovely Waldorf classroom for circle time and other indoor activities. Outdoor activities include woodland walks, campfires, as well as climbing, digging, raking, gardening, jumping and crawling in the new early childhood play yard.Parents and caregivers will also take part in guided discussions covering such topics as how to create a season table, how to get children outdoors, how to bring nature into the home, and how to create healthy outdoor spaces for the young child. The NatureTots program is open to children 16 months to three years old and their parents or caregivers.

Parents and TotsThe Cincinnati Waldorf School’s Parents and Tots class is an opportunity for young children and their parents or caregivers to come together once a week in a warm and nurturing environment where children are gently introduced to their first school experience. Our Parents & Tots teacher leads the class in a circle of seasonal games and songs, and brings storytelling through puppetry. Other activities include free play with imagination-inspiring Waldorf toys, and- for the parents- observation of children in a social group of peers. An appreciation of the child’s natural capacity for imaginative play and the world of nature set a mood of wonder, reverence, and enthusiasm for the tasks at hand.Parents and caregivers actively engage in the “work” for the classroom; helping to prepare the delicious, organic morning snack, creating toys and making seasonal crafts for the home. Parents and caregivers will also take part in guided discussions of this year’s class book, Heaven on Earth- A Handbook for Parents of Young Children. The Parents and Tots program is open to children 16 months to three years old and their parents or caregivers.
