NOTE: The following are the basic steps to install the 2488 detector. Check the after completing each section. For more detailed information and cautionary statements regarding this product, refer to the 2488 Multichannel Absorbance Detector with MassLynx Control operator's guide.
To install your 2488 Detector:

B. Connect a signal cable from "Auto Zero" pins 10(+) and 11(-) to an Autosampler or a Start Run TTL contact closure, if required.

For more information on I/O signal connections, refer to the 2488 Multichannel Absorbance Detector with MassLynx Control operator's manual.
A. If using a hardware trigger, connect a signal cable (in the Startup Kit) from the Inject Start pins 1(+) and 2(-) to an Autosampler or a Start Run TTL contact closure.

C. If required, connect a signal cable from a device controlled by threshold and timed events to:
• pins 8 and 9 (Switch 1) • pins 11 and 12 (Switch 2)
For more information on IEEE connections, refer to the 2488 Multichannel Absorbance Detector with MassLynx Control operator's manual.
D. Connect an IEEE-488 cable between the detector and the workstation, or to another IEEE connection in the chromatography system.
E. Connect power cord.

A. • Install the male connector fitting (p/n 700001826) into the drip tray drain.
• Tighten the drain fitting until its top is even with the inside surface of the drip tray.
• Connect the Tygon tubing (p/n 700001796) to the fitting and route it to a waste container.
D. • Connect MUX capillaries to Tee outlets as required.

E. • Repeat INLET and OUTLET connections for all flow cell
banks as needed.

B. • Connect HPLC Column #1 to Tee fitting #1. • Connect Tee fitting #1 to INLET #1 using 0.005" red PEEK

A. Power ON the 2488 detector. The detector
starts a Self-diagnostic test.
Configuring for Operation
B. Upon successful power ON the following screen appears:

C. • Press the DIAG key, select Configure and press Enter twice. • Press the Key Pad numbers for a valid IEEE-488 address
from 2 through 29 and press Enter. • Press DIAG, select Configure, press Enter and select
Configure inputs and press Enter. • Configure these inputs to "High":
>Inject >Auto Zero >Lamp • Press DIAG, press Enter twice. • Select flow cell banks (1-4, 5-8 or 1-8) for your system. • Press Enter. If no message appears, press Home. • If a flow cell calibration message appears, press Enter to
calibrate, or press Shift, Cancel and Home to return to the Main screen. • After calibration, view the results and press Enter as prompted to return to the Main screen.
