She doesn't go and Atticus is seen walking home after the trial with Jem and Scout. No mention is made of if he knew they were there or not. The Finch family lands in Maycomb, Alabama. There arrival isn't shown. Aunt Alexandra, Uncle Jack, and several other members of the Finch family are mentioned throughout the story. They are left out. Little Chuck Little is a student in Scout's class. He is wise beyond his years and tells Miss Caroline that Burris Ewell should be sent home because of his lice. Mrs. Dubose calls Atticus a "nigger lover" in the presence of Scout and Jem.Bob Ewell is the one who calls him this and says it directly to his face. Jem is the one of the two children who hears Atticus called this. Scout is present, but she does not hear because she is asleep.

Reverend Sykes tells the children about how Tom Robinson's damaged his left arm as a boy in a cotton gin.Tom tells the court himself.

Dill is Mrs. Rachel's nephew.He is Mrs. Stephanie Crawford's nephew.

Miss Rachel Haverford is Dill's aunt. Miss Stephanie Crawford is the town gossip and a friend of Atticus Finch.Rachel doesn't appear and her character is rolled into Stephanie Crawford.

Calpurnia goes to the Robinson home to inform them of Tom's death at the prison. Jem and Dill are with them because Jem was teaching Dill to swim and were reluctantly picked up by Atticus on the way over to the Robinson home.Atticus allows Jem to come with him to the Robinson home to inform them of Tom's death.

As a result of his childhood accident, Tom's left arm is twelve inches shorter than his right.His arms appear to be the same length.

Jem and Scout have several fights. The book takes place over three years and Scout details some of their spats.They do not fight at all, and the movie only covers the time period of the trial.

Mayella is allegedly raped on November 21st.The date is August 21st.

Dill and Scout carry on a romance. Dill promises to marry Scout and they claim to be engaged.This doesn't happen.

After Scout and Jem recieve air rifles as gifts, Atticus tells them, "Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird."He says this during his lunch with Walter Cunningham.

When the trial begins, the White people enter the court room first, followed by the blacks. They take their seats in their separate sections.The people all enter together and then separate into the divided sections.

Atticus takes off his coat during the trial.He does not do this in the movie.

During the trial, Tom Robinson uses is right hand to lift his limp hand onto the Bible.He just puts his right hand on the Bible.

Mrs. Maudie's house catches fire and burns down.This doesn't happen in the movie.

There are 2 classroom scenes - one of Scout in Miss Caroline's class, and another of Scout in Miss Gates' class.There are no classroom scenes.

Jem receives a box from Mrs. Dubose with a flower in it.Mrs. Dubose is not metioned

In the book Mr. Underwood covers Atticus from the window with a shotgun as Atticus is confronting the mob attempting to lynch Tom Robinson.Mr. Underwood is not even mentioned

Jem, Scout, and Dill role play the Radley Family in the beginning.This is left out

in the book mrs. maudy's house gets on fire and boo radley came outside and covered scout with a blanket.it skips this in the book.

In the book, all of the findings from the tree are made either by Scout or with Scout present.In the movie, Scout is only present when they(Jem and herself)find the soap dolls. She finds out later from Jem what he found.

Atticus walks Home with Jem, Dill and Scout after they confront the mob in front of the jail.This does not happen instead Atticus tells them to go Home, and he sits back down.

In the end Jem wakes up.This does not happen in the movie.

Boo Radley speaks one sentence to Scout. He asks her, "Will you take me home?"He never speaks.
