The Day of Your Exam Your Cooper Clinic exam is a thorough, comprehensive evaluation of your health. Ample time with your physician is included to discuss symptoms and medical history, as well as details of your exam results. You’ll leave knowing the complete state of your health, and you’ll be equipped with an action plan to maintain or improve it.

WHAT TO EXPECT • You will check in at your assigned appointment

time. The full exam takes approximately eight hours. We recommend scheduling return flights and other appointments for 5 p.m. or later.

• During check-in, a Patient Services Representative explains what to expect with the exam and gives a general sense of how the day will flow.

• Typically, lab work is the first procedure completed during the exam day. If you are having a resting metabolic rate (RMR) test, it is also completed early in the day. Fasting is required for both procedures.

• Once cleared from fasting, snacks are available throughout the day in the Cooper Clinic lobby. You also receive a voucher for a complimentary meal at Cedars Woodfire Grill at Cooper Aerobics, located on-site at Cooper Fitness Center (see map, #11).

• You are guided from one test to another until all procedures and tests are completed.

• Time with the physician includes a medical exam and consultation, review of lab and test results and development of a plan of action to help live a healthy lifestyle.

• While we don’t expect you to have too much free time, you may experience some wait times between procedures. So bring a laptop—free Wi-Fi is available—or a book.

• All results and test reports are available the same day and are reviewed together with the physician. You can also access your results on our Cooper Clinic Patient Portal, powered by FollowMyHealth, 24-48 hours after your visit. If you do not have a Patient Portal account, please call 972.560.6303 for assistance. A complete report will also be mailed to you.

Please note: The order of the exam tests vary based on individual patient needs.
