The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth

me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with

oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the

house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 23

I'm Still HereFriend, please don't mourn for meI'm still here, though you don't see.I'm right by your side each night and dayand within your heart I long to stay.My body is gone but I'm always near.I'm everything you feel, see or hear.My spirit is free, but I'll never departas long as you keep me alive in your heart.I'll never wander out of your sight-I'm the brightest star on a summer night.I'll never be beyond your reach-I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes aroundand the pure white snow that blankets the ground.I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,The clear cool water in a quiet pond.I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,The first warm raindrop that April will bring.I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine, and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine. When you start thinking there's no one to love you,you can talk to me through the Lord above you.I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees, and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weepand the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

On May 26th 2012 we lost a husband, son, father, brother and uncle in Alvin David Grant. He was suddenly taken away from us but is now in a better place. Alvin leaves behind his loving wife Patricia, his three children, Jennifer (Edward Denny IV), Andrew and Arien. He also will be remembered fondly by his two grandchildren – Shyanne and Edward V. He will continue to live in the heart of his wife, Patricia Grant, his children, mother, Pauline (Willie Eugene Grant-deceased), his brother Larry (Wendolyn) and sister Bernadette. In-laws, Mr. Mrs. Charles Boyd and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends will miss the always charismatic man that was Alvin David Grant.

Alvin D. Grant was born on September 8th 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio to Willie (deceased) and Pauline Grant. He was the youngest of three children in the Grant household after Larry and Bernadette. As a child he acquired a thirst for knowledge at an early age, so much so he was known to read the entire Encyclopedia Britannica set from A to Z (even sent them a letter once, to call attention to mistakes). This quest for knowledge would last throughout his entire life and motivate him while in school. Alvin graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated from Cleveland State University.

Alvin and Patricia have enjoyed 20 years of marriage since marrying in May of 1992. The couple loved to travel, visiting places like Las Vegas and the Carolinas with the children or just the two of them. Alvin also loved to cook. Swedish meatballs was one of his specialties, and barbecue (which is probably why he worked at Hot Sauce Williams as a teenager) for his family and friends. If you had a question about the latest technology Alvin was the one to ask, he was always in the know about the latest and greatest technological advances from phones to PCs to TVs. He was known to send you a special message no matter if it was your birthday, anniversary or any other holiday.

We will all miss Alvin. Whether it was as a Husband, Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin or Friend – if you knew Alvin, you know that heaven has just received a very special gift from down here on earth.
