Pretoria 21/08/2020 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN According the Spanish legislation to the COVID 19 crisis "Orden INT/595/2020 2 julio", the Spanish embassy in Pretoria confirms that non Spanish citizens who hold a valid residence title for Spain in force (D-visas, long term visa; Tarjeta de Identificación de extranjero. Foreign ID card; Tarjeta de familiar de ciudadano de la Unión, UE Relative Resident cards, UE relative visa) are, in principie, allowed to enter in Spain, unless a ban on entry and residence exists. Currently, entry with a Schengen visa is not allowed for South African residente. Those nationals holder of a residence card (TIE) or an entrepreneur/investor visa (golden visa) whose residence card or golden visa expired after the 15 December 2019 and before 21 of June 2020 will, in principie, be allowed to enter in Spain The foreign national will be required to show the expired document(TIE or golden visa) and his travel document. For the time being, due to the COVID 19 crisis, Spain has imponed restrictions to the entry to the territory from abroad (Orden SND/403/2020 11 mayo) such a quarantine of 14 days upon entrance. This situation may change, please consult the Spanish legislation. According the Spanish legislation to the COVID 19 crisis "Orden INT/595/2020 2 julio",

the Spanish embassy in Pretoria confirms that non Spanish citizens who hold a valid

Diplomatic, consular, international, military, civil protection and members of

humanitarian organizations, in the exercise of their functions.

Students who study in the Member States or States Schengen partners and who have

the corresponding permit or visa.

Highly qualified workers whose work is necessary and cannot be postponed or

performed remotely, including participants in sports events of high level taking place in

Spain. These circumstances must be justified documentary.

People traveling for family reasons duly accredited imperatives.

People who document documentary reasons of force majeure or situation of necessity,

or whose entry is permitted on humanitarian grounds.

Seasonal workers in the agricultura) sector.

Participants in high-level sports events held in Spain.

Travelers must carry appropriate documentation with them to prove that they fulfill

the aboye mentioned criteria for entry.

The decision about admitting foreign nationals to enter in Spain or to refuse entry is

made by the Spanish border police at the time of entry. This decision will be taken

based in the documentation presented by travelers. The Spanish missions abroad do

not have such authority.

Hence the embassy cannot issue certificates confirming the individual admissibility of

travelers to entry Spain and cannot pre-screen any related documentation either.
