Horseback riding is what we do

Because we are small, we offer complete flexibility in the riding programme and a personalised approach to ensure you get the most out of your ranch experience.

Regardless of whether this is your first horseback riding experience, or you are a seasoned rider, we will match you with the perfect horse and he will be yours for the duration of your stay.

You are encouraged to spend time at the barn getting to know the horses. We offer a complete hands-on experience so that you can be involved with all aspects of the care and ownership of your horse.

Guided by our experienced Wranglers, we ride through the mountains surrounding the ranch on an extensive network of old logging roads and cattle trails through the forest, climbing as soon as we leave the gate.

If you want to experience more than just the riding, close by the ranch are endless opportunities for fly-fishing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, golf and more.

When you’re not riding, the ranch is the perfect place to relax and just be.

On arrival at the ranch, you will be matched with the perfect horse and he will be yours for the entire duration of your stay! Prior to your first ride, you will be given an orientation on the Tod Mountain Ranch way of doing things.

We ride Western style in western saddles designed for comfort of both horse and rider for long days on the trail.

Total Immersion Horse Experience

By offering you the opportunity to get hands on with the care of your horse, we allow you to develop a bond between you and your horse that will heighten your riding experience here at the ranch.

Nothing is off limits and you will be welcome to participate in all aspects of the care and ownership of your horse during your stay.

We invite you to do as much as you feel comfortable with, and we will help you with the rest.

Our Horses

We have lots of wonderful horses here at the ranch for you to fall in love with!

Strong, responsive and sure-footed, each one has been personally selected by Tracey, the Ranch

Owner, for their temperament and ability to take you safely along the trail.

A real blend of the modern and traditional, our spacious cabins are nestled in small clearings amongst the trees.

Each cabin has a wide covered porch perfect for relaxing or enjoying an early morning cup of coffee.

Cabins are furnished with custom-designed, hand constructed log furniture all made by a local

craftsman. Modern amenities combined with the rustic style furniture and decor creates an

experience that is luxuriously rustic.

The Guest Lodge is the centre of the activity at the ranch with breathtaking views down Louis

Creek valley.

It is here where guests gather for meals,

activities and socialising when they are not out

on the trail.

Enjoy your early morning coffee on the porch

watching the sun come up over the meadow, or

relax with a sundowner on the deck at the end of a

great day in the saddle.
