The suffix –ly is added to an adjective to form an adverb.

The suffix –ly is added straight on to most root words as in the worksheet here.

However, sometimes the spelling of the root word changes before –ly is added.

Adverbs can go at the beginning, middle or end of sentences.Practise putting your adverbs in to different locations in your sentences.

Words ending in –ar/-erThese are the eight words we will be learning today.

HandwritingMake sure you are sitting up straight with your feet flat on the floor. Hold the pencil correctly in a tweezer grip and put your other hand flat on to your exercise book to stabilise it.

Millilitres are smaller than litres so there are more of them in the same volume. There are a thousand timesas many millilitres in the same volume as litres.

Multiply the number of litres by 1000.
