WELCOME ON THIS INDEPENDENCE DAY

WEEKEND

On July 4, 1776, the 56 of the Declaration of Independence declared

“that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their

Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life,

Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

They appealed to the “Supreme Judge of the world” as they laid out

the case against the King of Great Britain and for the dissolution

of the political bonds between England and America.

As the Declaration was being signed, Samuel Adams said: “We have

this day restored the Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient.

He reigns in heaven and from the rising to the setting of the sun,

let His kingdom come.”

Yet freedom and equality were not extended equally to all people.

The claims of the Declaration had to be worked out over time in our nation.

And so it is with life in the Kingdom of God. We too declare our separation from the enemy. We take hold of our freedom in Christ. The promises of spiritual Life, Liberty and Happiness

become ours as we live the life of faith and obedience centered in our

Communion with Christ.

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful

nature; rather, serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13)

All Out Praise! The All Out Praise! Music Festival will be

held this year from July 16th-18th at

1076 King’s Way in Donegal, PA. This event is sponsored by the Christian

Family & Children’s Center.

Thursday, July 16th will feature southern gospel & bluegrass music, featuring John Wyrick Band as the headliner. July 17th is Mash-Up Friday and will showcase a variety of performances

from area youth, and bands including Never Forsaken. Saturday, July 18th will feature headliner Among the Thirsty and the evening will end with a

fireworks display. To learn more about this event & order tickets,

Vacation Bible School We hope you will mark your calendars for our

2015 VBS, August 10th-14th, entitled Who Is Jesus?

The curriculum focuses on the Gospel of John and is presented as “a suspenseful investigation of Jesus’ life, with a private eye and his trusty sidekick who

look for clues in the events of Jesus’ day.” (quote from website superkidsmission.com.) This event will be intended as not only a great

program for our kids, but also an outreach to others in our community. We encourage you to prayerfully consider over the next few weeks

who you might invite.

Planning to volunteer? We are looking for some more volunteers to serve as Group Leaders and general helpers for the week. If you would like to sign up, please see the bulletin board outside the church office.

Salvation Army Soup Kitchen Ministry Our next volunteer day at the Salvation Army soup

kitchen will be this Friday, July 17th from 10:00 AM - noon.

Please sign up on the church bulletin board if you plan to attend. If you would like to help out by donating food items,

please place them in the collection bin in the foyer. Supplies needed are cans of kidney beans and jarred sauce (typically use Prego brand but will

accept all kinds of tomato sauce). If you have any questions,

First LIFE 2016 Fundraiser Tonight, July 5th

Please note: this is mandatory for students planning to attend LIFE. If the student cannot attend this event, they will be assigned another

project to complete.

There will be a parent & student meeting at 4:30 PM.

Students, please plan to attend with at least one parent.

The fundraiser will be from 6:00 - 8:30 PM. We will be selling food in

the parking lot of the church for the Independence Day Celebration / Fireworks Night. Students are to contribute $20 & work the event. We would appreciate help that evening from your parents as they are able. Please see Pastor Travis with any questions. Thank you!

Independence Day Celebration We hope you will join us tonight, July 5th

as we gather in the church parking lot together for our annual Independence Day Celebration

& Fireworks Night!

We will be selling food from 6:00-8:30 PM to benefit the youth attending LIFE 2016. We’ve got hamburgers,

cheeseburgers, hot dogs, nachos, & snack food, so be sure to

“come hungry!”

The fireworks begin at dusk. Please bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and join us for a wonderful time of fellowship & celebrating our

nation’s independence!

ministries.

• Administrator/Organizer: Effectively manages the congregation in its day-to-day ministries and operations and

Please join us tonight, July 5th as we gather in the Cherry Tree Alliance Church parking lot together to watch the annual

Uniontown fireworks display. We will be selling food from 6:00-8:30 PM to benefit our youth attending the C&MA

LIFE 2016 Conference.

The fireworks begin at dusk. Please bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and join us for a wonderful time of fellowship & celebrating
