SMART Goal JustificationSMART Goal Justification

Last spring in both my mid-term evaluation and end of the term evaluation many students remarked that I need to be more timely in returning assignments.

I personally like written feedback that is specific to the assignment.

I want to continue my work in designing formative and summative assessments that require more engagement on the students part.

Finally, between other work and family responsibilities I can easily fall behind in returning student work.

My Improvement PlanIn order to achieve my goal I need to:

1. Meet with Julia to better understand and practice using the types of rubrics we’ll use for General Instructional Methods.

2. I will create either a rubric and/or a performance task list for each assignment; it will be given with the assignment so that teacher-candidates know exactly what they’ll be graded on prior to turning in the assignment. All assignments can be accessed on my website.

2. I will meet every other week with Dan and Mike to discuss assignments and assessment.

3. I will consult my calendar on a regular basis to be sure I return items within two week time period!
