Types of Verbs1. Helping Verb- when there are two or more

verbs, the verb in front is known as the helping verb, and the last verb is the main verb.

Formula- Helping verb + main verb =verb phrase

Ex. Mosquitos were buzzing around my head.

2. Not Adverb- The helping verb can be split from the main verb by the adverb NOT. The adverb not is ALWAYS an adverb telling how.

Ex. We are not going home.

3.) Question Verb- When the helping verb is at the beginning of the sentence (in a question) , the subject will always come between the helping verb and main verb.

Ex. Are you going home? (Put it in a statement) You are going home.

These 23 helping verbs will be on my test. I gotta remember them so I can do my best.I’ll start out with 8 and finish with 15;Just call me the mean, lean verb machine.
