One last time
The hobbit Bilbo (MartinFreeman), dwarf lord Thorin(Richard Armitage) and therest of the troop have rousedthe terrible dragon Smaug(voiced by Benedict Cumber-batch) who is burning LakeTown to the ground. Bard(Luke Evans) escapes prisonand saves the people of the
town, who must now take
shelter in the desolated cityof Dale. Without Smaug,Thorin descends into mad-ness as he reclaims the king-dom of Erebor as his own, in-cluding all its treasures.
As men and the woodlandelves gather at the gates ofthe dwarf city seeking theirshare of the treasure, The
Necromancer/Saurons forces
led by the orc Azog (ManuBennet) amass from all sidesof The Lonely Mountain. Gal-adriel (Cate Blanchett), Saru-man (Christopher Lee) andElrond (Hugo Weaving) res-cue Gandalf (Ian McKellen)and Radagast (Sylvester Mc-Coy) from Dol Guldur. Themovie reaches a blistering45-minute action climax asthe five armies of elves, men, dwarves, goblins and orcsbattle for the control of Mid-dle-earth.
I keep saying that this is anon-stop action war movie, because it is. It can get vio-lent and dark, with manyscenes of stabbings, decapita-tion and ruin, particularly onthe poor human folk. Thesescenes reinforce how highthe stakes are and how greatthe suffering of the people ofMiddle-earth must endure.
Which goes well with thethemes and battles ofThe
Lord o f the Ring s.However, these scenes can
get pretty exhausting towatch, especially since theaudience gets only a smatter-ing of emotional breaks (Bil-bo and Thorin scenes, Gan-dalfs rescue, Kili and Tau-riels scenes, Bards children)quite unlike The Two Towersmore meaningful dramatic
pauses. Still, these breaks arewelcome against relentlessscenes of war.
Freemans and Armitagesportrayal of friendship testedby distrust is the emotionalcore of this epic and the twoactors deliver perfectly. Thefilm looks amazing in HighFrame Rate (HFR) 3D, butits an optional format. Thefilms theme song, The LastGoodbye(sung by Billy Boyd
who played Pippin in LOTR)is a fond adieu and thanks tothose who joined them in theentire journey.
And so it is befitting thatThe Hobbitends where our
journey started, with theaged Bilbo (Ian Holm) as wehave first seen him in The
Fellowship of the Rin g, in ahole in the ground called BagEnd.
Farewell Bilbo, Gandalf,elves, men and
dwarvesand thank you, all.

TS an exhausting, eye-popping but mostlysatisfying conclusion to Peter Jacksons bloat-
edThe Hobbit trilogy that fits somewhat snug-ly withThe Lord of the Rings. Non-stop action anda few sniffles at the end markThe Hobbit:The Bat-tle of the Five Armies. After more than a decade, our epic cinematic journey to Middle-earth comesto a sprawling, dark and sentimental end.

Kawasaki donates
for the peopleof Marabut
November 24, 2014 marked the
day when Kawasaki Motors
Philippines, through its President
andChairman, Mr. JinInoue,made
another donation to the victims of
Super Typhoon Yolanda, this time,
in Marabut, Samar, with five (5)Kawasaki motorcycles. This
gesture were received with great
gratitude by Rural Health Unit of
Marabut who will use the bikes to
reach the typhoon victims in hard
to reach, far flung areas.
This donation is an urgent
response by Kawasaki Heavy
Industries of Japan (KHI) and
Kawasaki Motors Phils. Corp.'s
(KMPC) to the heartfelt request
of Dr. Ryohei Kada, a Japanese
medical volunteer working in the
Philippines, who know that
motorcycles are an effective
means of delivering goods and
services to victims, asexperienced by the Japanese
themselves with the tsunami that
hit Japan in 2011.
Kawasaki hopes that its modest
gifts and donations could help in
thetireless andselflesswork of the
government workers in RHU of
Marabut, and likewise to the other
provinces that it has earlier
reached out to.
