The Kapuso network openeddoors for him. Now, he’s slam-ming the door on his old studioand wants out. Every actorreaches a point in his careerwhen he feels like he needs achange of scenery.

I have interacted with Aljurseveral times and found him amild-mannered guy. I neverthought he’d be gutsy enoughto defy network rules.

Aljur is getting a lot of flakfor his move. Loyalty and utangna loob (debt of gratitude) aretricky matters. Until when mustcelebrities remain loyal to theirnetwork?

This reminds me of what mylate mom (Inday Badiday)once said when asked about themany stars she helped. Her re-ply: “I just paved the way forthem. The rest was due to theirtalent and determination.”

Aljur’s erstwhile screen part-ner, Kris Bernal, shares her sen-timents on the raging issue.

What was your reactionwhen you heard about Aljur’sdecision?

I was surprised because, inmy opinion, he was given im-portance by GMA 7. I’m alsosad because we may never getto work together again. I knowthat he’s having a tough timenow.

Thrilla at Shangri-LaIt was such a thrill to meet
