Fr. Tony Ritter will be the celebrant for the 8am Mass on Mon., Jun. 24 and then will be leaving to begin his first

assignment at St. Francis Borgia Parish in Washington, MO. There will be Communion Services at 8am on Tuesday & Wednesday this week. There will be no Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, evening Confessions or 7pm Mass this Tue., Jun. 25.

The Real Presence of Jesus Christ The Catholic Church professes that, in the celebration of the Eucharist, bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the instru-mentality of the priest. Jesus said: "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live for-ever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world…For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink" (Jn 6:51-55). The whole Christ is truly present, body, blood, soul, and divinity, under the appearances of bread and wine—the glorified Christ who rose from the dead after dying for our sins. This is what the Church means when she speaks of the "Real Presence" of Christ in the Eucharist. The presence of the risen Christ in the Eucharist is an inexhaustible mystery that the Church can never fully explain in words. We must remember that the triune God is the creator of all that exists and has the power to do more than we can possi-bly imagine. As St. Ambrose said: "If the word of the Lord Je-sus is so powerful as to bring into existence things which were not, then things which already exist can be changed into some-thing else" ( De Sacramentis, IV, 5-16).

Over the next two weeks new carpet in the Church will be installed. It is scheduled to arrive on June 24th. Installation will take some time with the special cutting and binding re-quired for the sanctuary and the steps to the choir area. Be pa-tient! At times certain segments of the Church may be roped off as they work on that area. Special thanks goes out to Brian Aston, Dave Orf and Kenny Wortmann for repairing a section of the Church floor. Let us pray for each other this week.

Father Bob Samson

Stewardship Awareness “They all ate and were satisfied. And when the leftover fragments were picked up, they filled twelve wicker baskets.” Luke 9:17 The story of the Loves and Fishes shows us that when we share what we have, even if it doesn’t seem like that much, miracles can happen! Do not think that your gift is too small or insignificant! God blesses all the gifts we offer and makes them wondrous.
