Class in Focus...Owls

This week’s class in focus is the treble NIMO award winning Owl class! Owl class, and the rest of Tollgate, were treated to a gloriously sunny sports day on Thursday! We all had a fantastic time trying out new activities and giving everything our best shot. The daily mile and P.E lessons involving hurdles and javelins certainly gave us a head start! Owls also learnt about Boudicca’s rebellion against the Romans and have been progressing towards writing a recount by watching a clip which told the story, sequencing the events and ensuring we know all of the technical vocabulary – so we now know our conquerors from our conkers! We also learnt that you cannot trust all that you see as we compared a description of Boudicca written by Roman writers thousands of years ago to drawings of her throughout the ages – some even got her hair colour wrong! Keep your fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes crossed for us to win NIMO for a fourth time in a row!
