Personal Profile:

I see myself as a very hard working passionate individual, I enjoy being challenged and believe I thrive in a competitive working environment. I am very determined to achieve a successful career, I thoroughly believe that to be a success you have to work extremely hard and this is why I am prepared to do whatever it takes to make sure that I do achieve my goals. Nothing in life is handed to you on a plate you must work for everything that you earn and achieve in life.

I studied a computing related course in university I have been able to develop many useful technical skills which would make me a valuable asset to many companies as I have no issue working with technology, both new and old. Here are the topics I studied throughout my time at university, Computer Programing, Networking, Animation, Web Design and Computer Architecture and Security. I have also developed excellent data entry skills and I am extremely efficient at keeping logs of work completed by myself and others. Problem solving is something that I have become really efficient at and this is definitely a skills that I feel makes me employable to many companies especially when combined with my other strengths.Working in a team is another huge strength of mine, I strongly feel that I can enhance any team I am added to as I can bring many different strengths to the table, I have spent the majority of my time in education and work as part of small or larger teams and this has really allowed me to understand properly how to fit into each unique team environment that I have or could be placed into.

I believe that I have a very diverse range of skills that can make me a valuable asset to any company, the majority of my work since graduating university has been in sales, by working in a sales environment I have learnt excellent communication skills both written and verbal as I have spent the majority of my time interacting with customers and meeting new people. I have no problem being thrown into completely new environments where I must instantly work with and meet new people this is something that is very comfortable and natural to me. I have exceptional punctuality and time keeping skills, and I am very self-motivated and driven.

Hobbies: Traveling is something I have always loved doing from a young age, any chance I would get to visit a new city of country was something that would instantly interest me. One of my main ambitions in life is to one day travel the world and visit its seven wonders, along with experiencing the different cultures that different countries around the world have to offer. Sport and especially football is something that I follow very passionately, I am a huge Liverpool fan and I go to see them in action any time I get, As a sports fan I do follow many others as well and love the competition that sport brings. I try to go out with friends and socialise as much as possible when I have spare time, interacting with your friends and meeting new people is something that I feel is a huge part of life and like my other hobbies I try to do this as much as possible.

Work Experience:

My first taste of work experience was in secondary school where I worked over a 3 week period in HMV, during my time at HMV I managed to gather an understanding of how the retail world worked. I was regularly tasked with helping customers out and getting stock ready for sale, this was a useful introduction for me to the world of work and gave me an insight into how things work behind the scenes. After finishing University I began working in the retail store NEXT, I worked here over 15 weeks. This was also during the Christmas period which of course is the biggest and busiest time of the year, I spent most of my time at NEXT working behind the scenes at delivery. Here I was part of a team that would process all the stock and make sure it was ready to be moved to the shop floor. All stock that was being processed came in tubs where the content of the stock inside would differ from each tub, each tub would have to be done quickly to meet individual time limits that they were each given for the stock to be tagged and processed. This added a constant pressure to make sure you were working at a consistently fast pace to make sure all of the tubs could be processed to meet set deadlines. Occasionally I would also be working on the shop floor where I would be consistently interacting with customers and helping them anyway possible, Boxing Day was the most challenging day I had working at NEXT as it was none stop all day with hundreds of customers packing the shop at any one point throughout the day. I did find this enjoyable as well as challenging.

After working in next I then moved further into the sales field, I started working as an independent sales advisor for Arête 22, this involved working in small teams generally of around two or three and going into shopping centres or department starts and attempting to get the public to sign up for the various charities that we were representing. I feel that during my time here I was able to develop a strong sales pitch which greatly helped me during my time working for Arête 22, I was also able to

vastly improve my oral communication skills as this was a critical part of the job. On the second week of my time at Arête 22 I went on a business trip down to Watford where I had the opportunity to work with the people at the local branch there this was another fantastic learning experience for me and really allowed me to improve my skills.I was working 6 days a week and around 65 hours a week while working at Arête 22 which was ultimately over 9 weeks. The job was all commission based which was the reason I left, although I did thoroughly enjoy the work and the working environment as it was so fast paced and enthusiastic, at the end of the day having no basic salary to supplement the commission was the reason I decided to leave.
