Tong Ren Therapy Presenters

Tom Tam - Tong Ren Healing System Founder And Developer

Tom Tam is a gifted healer, acupuncturist and

innovator based in Boston, MA. He is the developer of

the Tom Tam Healing System which utilizes

acupuncture, energy healing and Tui na for treating

conditions which have proven to be difficult to treat

by other methods. Tom has authored numerous books

which explain his theories and techniques and has

taught numerous students around the world.

While Tom has recently retired from active practice he

continues to write, lecture, teach students, and travel

the world to share his dreams.

Bio: In 1987, Tom founded the Boston Chi Gong Center and began training

students. The following year, he founded the Oriental Culture Institute and

organized the Boston Chi Gong Delegation to China.

In 1988, Tom formed the Boston Chi Gong Delegation and traveled with 23 Tai

Chi and Chi Gong students to China.

In 1989 Tom developed his own system for Chi Gong healing, and has trained

many Chi Gong healers. In 1994, Tom developed the Tong Ren healing system,

and brought a group of students to visit mainland China and Taiwan in order to

share his Tong Ren healing method. In Guang Zhou Tradition Chinese Medical

College, he demonstrated Tong Ren healing for weight loss, followed by a trip to

Taipei to demonstrate Tong Ren’s benefit on leukemia.

In 2001, the first Guinea Pig class was formed for treating cancer in Quincy,

Massachusetts. Now the Guinea Pig class for healing has spread to many

countries around the world.

In July of 2007, Fox News broadcasting produced a news segment based on Tong

Ren Healing and the Guinea Pig class. Soon after, PBS requested permission to

create a segment based on Tong Ren Healing and is currently making a program

with the Guinea Pig class.

begins. Also incorporating affirmations into a healing

Ken Alan Hadden has been practicing Tong Ren in the

Boston area for over five years, including the Boston

Living Center and AIDS Action Committee, and at Valley Human Services in

Ware, MA. He is also a Board Member of the Oriental Culture Institute Healing

Research Foundation (OCIHRF), a non-profit organization established for

education, research and the advancement of Tong Ren Healing worldwide with

the intention of developing safe and more cost effective health care.

Kathy Tangney - Creative Problem Solving

The enjoyment of learning and discovery has led to

great innovation, as seen in Tom Tam's Tong Ren

Therapy. Tom is also a published poet. Artists are

known for their creative problem solving ability. Mine

started as a little girl wanting to quietly communicate

with my siblings sleeping in the next room. Dad had

taught my brother and I Morse code, ah ha. Next step,

taptaptapping the code on the wall. Now in my sixties,

I find myself taptaptapping again, this time on a doll

with a hammer using the code developed by Tom Tam

for Tong Ren Therapy. Funny how life seems to go full circle!

Kathy Tangney is a professional watercolor artist and Tong Ren Therapist. She

came to Tom Tam’s “guinea pig” session in 2002 because her sister Ann had

found a cure for their mother’s pain in the neck! Kathy has taken several of Tom

Tam’s seminars, offers a weekly “guinea pig” session and volunteers as a tapper

during Tom’s open sessions. She continues her passion for watercolor painting

and Art thanks to Tom Tam’s affordable health care!

Janet & Craig Holmes - Super Charging Tong Ren Therapy: Healing

methods that can support & harmonize the healing power of Tong

Ren

After Tong Ren helped Janet recover from a life-

threatening illness in 2005 they became passionate

about using this healing technique to help others.

Their participation over the years in Tom’s guinea pig

classes and the free Tong Ren conference calls led

them to delve into the underlying power of Tong Ren

and the important role played by the mind-body connection. Along the way they

learned of other healing modalities, They use these techniques to supercharge

Tom’s beautifully simple method of tapping on key meridian points to remove

blockages.

Craig’s eclectic career includes Australian Army Captain, Construction

Engineer, Systems Engineer & international business consultant. Along with

Tong Ren, he is also popular for his tui na massages!

Janet is passionate about the science of energy, liberty and discovering Truth

and finds helping people heal very rewarding. Her work career has been as

entrepreneur, international business consultant, tech writer/editor and a

candidate for local office.

Sandra M Schriefer - My Journey to Tong Ren and Beyond: the

'Wind Beneath My Wings"

Sandra's vision is to create a Disease Free Planet. For

this she has compiled techniques from many healing

modalities. Her journey started in 1984 when her

young son Rob was diagnosed with Friedreich's

Ataxia a debilitating, neuro-muscular disorder. This

traumatic diagnosis set her on a personal journey

seeking answers first for her beloved son, then for

herself and others.

I was certified by Tom Tam in 2005. Because of my

son, Rob's diagnosis 29 years ago, I searched for

answers to help him beat this terminal horrific

disease. The doctor gave him 6 months, a year, 5 or 10 years way back in '84 and

it's been my MISSION to find answers and became attuned to several modalities

and heavy into health and wellness. In my quest for helping Rob, "The Wind

Beneath My Wings" I was able to conquer my Thyroid Disease of a lifetime and

incorporate my skills learned into my practice of Health and Wellness.

Millie Pepple - Supercharging the E.R.: Improving Conventional

Emergency Room Care with Medical Intuition and Tong Ren

Therapy

Nurse Practitioner, Certified Medical Intuitive, and

Tong Ren Practitioner, Millie has a passion for

healing. Millie will discuss ways that Medical

Intuition and Tong Ren therapy could be used in

conjunction with conventional medicine in the

Emergency Department. She believes that

complementary medicine and energetic healing are

compatible with the complex biological and energetic

systems found in the body.

Millie Pepple worked as a nurse and later a nurse

practitioner for 35 years, primarily in hospital

emergency departments and intensive care units. She received her Bachelor of

Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing degrees from

Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. She retired from her nursing career in

2010. Since then she has continued her healing work both as a Tong Ren

practitioner doing long distance healing, and as a Medical Intuitive.

Hayley Mermelstein - Tong Ren Chakra Balancing (TRCB): An

innovative healing system which promotes healing on all levels

Leslie Murphy - Tong Ren for Children: Simple, Easy, Effective and

Fun for the Health of Our Littlest Ones

Tong Ren is a powerful healing modality that is not

only great for adults but for children struggling with

physical and emotional health concerns as well.

Attendees will learn about this non-invasive treatment

method and its benefits for children and will leave

empowered knowing how they can treat specific

childhood illnesses.

Leslie Murphy, Lic.Ac., Dipl.Ac. is a licensed &

nationally certified acupuncturist. She has a private

practice, Balanced Health Acupuncture, in

Middleboro, MA, and has provided acupuncture

services at Ocean Spray and Wheaton College. Leslie became certified in Tong

Ren Therapy in 2007 and provides treatments in her office or via phone for

distance healing. As someone who has benefited from Tong Ren for her own

chronic pain, it is her desire to share knowledge about this healing modality to

help others in need.

Dr. Shaw Sprague - Tong Ren: Restoring the Unconscious Healing

Power of the Mind

Dr. Sprague will be speaking about how Tong Ren

integrates Traditional Chinese Principals of energetic

medicine with Carl Jung's theories of archetypal

energy patterns. Research has shown this system

reduces stress, promotes wellness, prevents disease

and restores balance in mind, body, and spirit.

After earning a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from

Boston University and a Doctoral Degree in

Psychology from California Graduate Institute, he

studied Traditional Chinese Medicine's “Art and

massage therapist, and a Reiki Master. She holds a

Charlie Smigelski, RD - Seminar Presentation: Nutrition and Tong

Ren: A Phenomenal Recipe for Repair

In modern life, people don’t consume all the foods

their caveman era genes are counting on for mending

injured cells. This lecture reviews some foods and

supplements that help reverse festering repair

problems. Case studies are presented.

Charlie Smigelski is a well-known nutrition counselor,

writer and speaker. He was dietitian at the Harvard

University student-faculty health service for 14 years.

He has nutrition research experience at the world

famous Framingham Heart Study. Past academic

affiliations have been at Tufts Medical School, and the

Boston University School of Public Health, and BU Medical School, Department

of Computer Medicine. He also spent a number of years at the Fenway Health

Center, one of Boston’s major HIV research and care centers.

Linda Hogan - Teaching the Healers of the Future - Tong Ren for

Toddlers, Teens and the Young at Heart

Tong Ren is the perfect healing modality for anyone

including the very young and the very old. When

taught to young children It helps foster concern and

compassion for others by helping them perceive how

another is feeling. When taught to the elderly, it gives

them a renewed sense of independence, self-control

and self-worth. All ages and abilities are welcome to

participate in this basic Tong Ren class.

Linda is board certified in Holistic Health Counseling

and Alternative Psychology. As well as being a Tong

Ren Healing Practitioner, she is a Reiki Master, Theta

Healing Practitioner/Teacher, Shamanic Healer/Teacher and Access

Consciousness Bars Practitioner.

She is passionate about The Earth, traveling to remote parts of the world to live

and study with elders and healers and teaching others how to "Walk Gently Upon

the Earth", also the name of her first book.

Sandy Walker - The Miracle of Tong Ren: Nothing to Lose

Sandy traces her journey from patient to therapist to

instructor of Tong Ren therapy. She examines her own

healing, the healing of others and the universality of

Tong Ren therapy. Her presentation is laced with

humor, compassion, and anecdotes as she shares her

16 year excursion into the world of Tong Ren.

Sandy Walker started her working career as

Professional Singer. She studied at the Manhattan

School of Music, with scholarships to Europe to study

with world class singers such as Tito Gobbi. She got

into Tong Ren by being ill herself triggered by a low

immune system. Rev McDonough introduced her to Tom Tam where everything

got better. Sandy is a Tong Ren Therapy Practitioner and runs a weekly Energy

Healing Class in Naperville IL.

Heather Joyce Wolfe RN, RPP - Self Nurturance: A Joyful Solution to

Breast Cancer Prevention & Healing

Breast Cancer is preventable and can be healed in

many different ways other than, or in conjunction

with, chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. During this

talk Heather will focus on breast cancer and how a

journey into Self where love and joy are to be found -

even side by side with sadness and anger will open the

pathways back to health!

Heather was born in Ireland and trained there as a

nurse before moving to USA. She currently lives in

Salem, MA where she has a private practice in Whole

Body Coaching, based on her years of practicing and

teaching Polarity Therapy and other holistic modalities. She has been

instrumental in creating several alternative healing centers in the North East.

Heather experienced a diagnosis of breast cancer seven years ago, and after

some surgery, refused chemo and radiation to form her own healing path to

wellness. She subsequently wrote “A Guide to Breast Cancer – A Whole Body A

to Z – Conventional and Alternative”.

Tong Ren Healing was developed by Tom

Tam from his Acupuncture Practice, using

the collective unconscious. Tong Ren is a

form of energy therapy for restoring health

and vitality. Tong Ren is based on a belief

that disease is related to a blockage or

blockages in the body's natural flow of CHI.

Tong Ren seeks to remove these blockages,

restoring the body's natural ability to heal

itself by creating repair of the nucleus of the

cells, the bioelectricity, even when illnesses

are chronic debilitating, or otherwise

untreatable. Because no physical contact is

involved or necessary, Tong Ren is often

practiced as distance healing. In a typical

therapy session, the Tong Ren Therapist

uses a small human anatomical model as an

energetic representation of the patient,

tapping on targeted points on the model

with a lightweight magnetic hammer. The

therapist directs CHI to blockage points

corresponding to the patient's condition,

opening the blockage at these points. As

CHI flows, neural transmission, and

hormone reception are restored, the body is

then able to heal.
