We are here to recognize the outstanding achievements of past PIL Athletes, Coaches and Administrators as well as to help perpetuate the storied history and tradition of this great league.

The mission of the PIL Hall of Fame Association is to recognize the accomplishments of the great athletes and coaches of the past as well as to honor the achievements of the current athletes and coaches. In so doing, the PIL Hall of Fame has become a visible support group for the Portland Interscholastic League.

During the past year the Association, consisting of a 36-member Board of Directors, has sponsored the Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, the PIL Hall of Fame Golf Tournament in September, and the “Celebration of Champions” Awards Ceremony in May at the Tiger Woods Center on the Nike Campus. The Association also has secured major corporate sponsorships from G.I. Joe’s Inc., Global Spectrum Inc., Les Schwab Tire Centers and Subaru. Funds provided by these corporate sponsors are used to enhance the athletic programs in the 10 PIL High Schools.

In addition to the above activities, the PIL Hall of Fame Association, in conjunction with G.I. Joe’s, revived the PIL Football Jamboree held on September 1st at Madison High School. The PIL Hall of Fame will continue to reach out for additional sponsorships, improve its Golf Tournament and solicit the support of more ex-PIL Athletes as it strives to assist the 6,000-plus student athletes in the Portland Interscholastic League.
