Infant Feeding Care Bundle -Aims

• Every family cared for on neonatal units across the Network receives excellent care and support with infant feeding

Infant Feeding Care Bundle developed

• consists of a collection of researched elements proven to impact positively on feeding outcomes for families

• aimed to help provide uniformity of care and family experience throughout all the neonatal units in the Lancashire and South Cumbria Neonatal Network as the infant feeding care bundle will be transferable between units

Where are we now?

• The infant feeding care bundle incorporates Standards 1-5

• Will be in use at the Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre by November 2011

• Network wide in 2012• Standards 6-7 will be within the remit of the

individual unit’s clinical educator to ensure that these standards are achieved.

• Unicef UK Baby Friendly Initiative 3 day course• Strong focus on the importance of family-

centred care with reference to the Toolkit for High Quality Neonatal Services
