  • 1. About :The Grey Crowned CraneThe African Crowned Crane is one of themost charming birds in the African savannah, which is itthe southern part of the Sahara desert. However, thebird prefers to nest in wetter habitats to keep it cool andcomfortable. These birds may also be found flyingaround the lakes, and some flatlands near rivers. It isalso important to note that this bird does not migrate, sothey usually stay where they are. With the outstandingand attractive features of this bird specie, it is no wonderwhy more people are drawn to them.Behaviour of:Crane has a breeding display involving dancing, bowing,and jumping. It has a booming call which involvesinflation of the red gular sac. It also makes a honkingsound quite different from the trumpeting of other cranespecies. Dancing done at any time of the year.1

2. About :The Blue-and-Yellow MacawThe Blue-and-yellow Macaw also known asthe Blue-and-gold Macaw is a large South Americanparrot with blue top parts and yellow under parts. It is amember of the large group of geotropically parrotsknown as macaws. It inhabits and woodland of tropicalSouth America.There has been a small breeding populationin Miami-Dade County, Florida, since the middle 1980s.They are popular in aviculture because of their strikingcolor, ability to talk, ready availability in the marketplace.These birds can reach 76 to 86 cm (30 to 34in) long and weigh 900 to 1500 grams (1.9 to 3.3 lbs.),making it one of the larger members of its family.Behaviour of:Macaws in the wild can be very aggressive, but as babiesthey can be very playful.2 3. About :The Northern Cardinal is a North Americanbird in the genus Cardinals; it is also known colloquiallyas the redbird or common cardinal. It can be found insouthern Canada, through the eastern United Statesfrom Maine to Texas and south through Mexico. It isfound in woodlands, gardens, shrub lands, and swamps.Since cardinals barely moult into a dull color duringwinter, they still appear breath-taking in the coldmonths.Description :The Northern Cardinal is a mid-sizedsongbird with a body length of 21 cm (8.3 in). It has adistinctive crest on the head and a mask on the facewhich is black in the male and grey in the female. Themale is a vibrant red, while the female is a dull red-brownshade. The males are known as peacocks, whilethe females are peahens, and the offspring arepeachicks. Typically people tend to refer to them all,regardless of gender, as peacocks, even though thecollective name is actually Peafowl.Description :Indian Blues are the most commonly keptdomestic peafowl because of their mild, timid nature.Green peafowl are less common because they tend to betoo aggressive.Our peafowl will let people get relativelyclose to them but are not tame enough to be touched orpetted. It is found in semi-openhabitats throughout a large part of central andeastern South America.Description :The Toco Toucan has a striking plumage witha mainly black body, a white throat, chest and upper tail-coverts,and red under tail-coverts. What appears to bea blue iris is actually thin blue skin around the eye. Thisblue skin is surrounded by another ring of bare, orangeskin. The most noticeable feature, however, is its hugebill, which measures from 15.8 to 23 cm (6.2 to 9.1 in)in length, which is yellow-orange, tending to deeperreddish-orange on its lower sections and culmed, andwith a black base and large spot on the tip It looksheavy, but as in other toucans it is relatively lightbecause the inside largely is hollow.Toco Toucan5 6. The English name is an onomatopoeicform which imitates the cry of the bird.Description : The Hoopoe is a medium sized bird, 2532 cm(9.812.6 in) long, with a 4448 cm (17.319in) wingspan weighing 4689 g. The species is highlydistinctive, with a long, thin tapering bill that is blackwith a fan base. The strengthened musculature of thehead allows the bill to be opened when probing insidethe soil.
