Software Engineer / Programmer
Responsible for designing, building, testing and maintaining software systems, software development/programming is a popular role for entrants to the workforce.
Software developers usually have a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
The career starting point for a graduate is usually that of Junior Software Engineer. This involves writing code and developing applications, typically under the supervision of a team lead.
After gaining sufficient experience, a Junior Software Engineer may move into the Software Engineer role. Here, they have the freedom to create their own code without as much supervision. They also have more involvement in the overall project, which feeds back into their programming solutions.
The next step in the software engineer’s career is a role with greater responsibility. A Senior Software Engineer takes more accountability for the software development process and is expected to write complex code and develop complete applications. The Senior Software Engineer would supervise Junior Software Engineers and provide help and advice to the rest of the team.
Career Progression
The growth in demand for software engineers is largely down to the growth in demand for software. Mobile technology, in particular, has opened up a whole new industry that didn’t exist a decade ago. All areas of business now depend on software to carry out their day-to-day activities, and rely on software engineers to keep on producing innovative solutions to satisfy their strategic needs.

Data Analyst jobs are the most sought after jobs in today's current business climate. Data analysts take mountains of data and work with it to spot trends, make forecasts and extract information to help their organizations make better-informed business decisions.
Graduating from a data analysis program, particularly if you have a strong grade point average and a high ranking in your class, should lead to an entry-level data analysis position without much trouble. Your career path & options as a data analyst depend in large part on your employer.
Business analysts are a subset of data analysts that are more concerned with the business implications of the data and the actions that flow.
The Senior Data Analyst oversees the activities of the junior data analyst personnel and reports directly to the Head Data Analyst. An Analytics Manager leads a team of business analysts that use business data and statistical methods to provide insights into business performance and suggest areas for and methods of improving operations.

IT Service Management Professionals
IT Service Management (ITSM) refers to the planning, design, delivery, management & control of the way information technology (IT) services are used within an organization or offered to customers. Popular ITSM frameworks include COBIT, Microsoft Operations Framework, Six Sigma, ISO 20000, TOGAF, and ITIL.
Depending on experience and expertise, an ITSM career can be built in many ways. While most senior level positions fall in the category of ITIL architect, Service architect, and IT Security architect, entry-level positions are held by Network Support Specialists and Security Analysts. Mid-level managerial roles (which can also be further tiered hierarchically) are IT change manager, Incident manager, and Release manager.
A Network Analyst is responsible for the installation, layout, and maintenance of all network components within a company. The responsibilities of an Information Security Analyst includes planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data. They are expected to stay up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers’ methodologies, in order to anticipate security breaches.
The mid-level managerial roles are more into creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance and ensuring that projects (change initiatives) meet the objectives on time and budget. Most ITIL professionals need to take the ITIL certification exam & training to advance in their careers.
