PASSWORD EXPIRATION
• System Admin passwords expires every 90 days. MANAGER is one of them
– Cannot reuse the last 4 passwords
– Sessions timeout after 15 minutes of inactivity
– Make sure you have a staff email address on your MANAGER account that isn’t being used by another user
– There is no notification from iMIS that it is about to expire. Create an alert!
• This will effect many third-party bridges as they use the MANAGER password
– Contact your iMIS Solution Provider before you change your password so you don’t have an interruption in your bridges!

PASSWORD REQUIREMENTS
• All password must be at least 7 characters long. If not, the user will get a reset password message when they try to login.
• This applies to both Staff and Public users.

SSL
• Need a Wildcard SSL
– Secures your website URL and an unlimited number of its subdomains.
• All connection to iMIS are now made with https:
– Desktop
– RiSE public site
– RiSE Staff site
– Any SSO

KEK FILE
• Must backup new KEK file. This file has the iMIS encryption key. Database will not work with iMIS without it.
– Typically located at C:\AsiPlatform\Asi.Scheduler\App_Data (drive letter may vary)
– What’s a KEK file?
• iMIS keys use encryption for securing sensitive cardholder information. The encryption keys used to store this data are also encrypted using a string stored in a key-encrypting key (KEK) file.

MICROSOFT .NET
• iMIS 2017 requires Microsoft .NET 4.6.2 or higher. This may not be compatible with other applications installed on your server.
– Warning! Installing .NET 4.6.2 is required for iMIS 2017 (20.2.64) and is supported for previous versions of iMIS beginning with iMIS Q4 2015 (version 20.2.26), but is not compatible with versions prior to iMIS Q4 2015.
– If you have multiple versions of iMIS installed on the same server and those versions are different, only those versions beginning with iMIS Q4 2015 can be installed on the same server as iMIS 2017.
– Versions of iMIS prior to iMIS Q4 2015 must be installed on a separate server without .NET 4.6.2 installed.

OTHER TIPS
• There have been multiple patches released for iMIS 2017– Patches are inclusive
– ALWAYS read the install notes for the patch before applying a patch
– As of the E patch, there are additional updates that may be needed on the machines for iMIS to work after the iMIS patch is installed. These are listed in the instructions.
– Machines with the iMIS desktop installed will also need to have the patch installed in most cases.
