Top College Football Rivalries

Army - NavyThe Army-Navy rivalry is an age-old tradition, which extends beyond just the football field, making sure that things during these games get personal. Whether it’s tears of joy or grief, by the time a game is over, everybody in the stadium is crying.
Alabama - Auburn
Few people go as nuts for football as Alabamans do, and with no professional sports teams in the state, Alabama is able to focus all of their attention on this one massive rivalry.
Ohio State - Michigan
Ohio and Michigan absolutely hate each other. Michigan’s coach refuses to call Ohio State by its full name, and the OSU coach makes NFL talent scouts cover up their franchises’ blue colors, since blue is a “Michigan color”.
Notre Dame - USC
Both Notre Dame and USC are private schools, steeped in their own unique traditions and a national-level panache.
Texas - Oklahoma
Every time Texans utter the phrase “Oklahoma”, it’s with nothing short of pure contempt. At games, massive fights almost always break out between both rival players and fans.
Florida - GeorgiaEvery year for 100 years, Gators and Bulldogs have had an annual game, leading to one of the greatest rivalries in the SEC. Fans are separated in the Florida stadium, so that fights don’t break out.
Oregon – Oregon State
The proximity of these two schools has served to only amplify their rivalry. Their game together, known as the “Civil War”, is the seventh most-played college football game in the US.
Clemson – South CarolinaThis rivalry is the largest uninterrupted series in the South, and the second-longest uninterrupted FBS series.
Utah – BYUWhat makes this rivalry so interesting is its religious undertones: while Utah is run by the state, BYU is operated by the Mormons. Once, after Utah had beaten BYU, fans put up a sign in the BYU stadium proclaiming, “where is your God now?”
