Top Five 2.

I have decided to choose this photograph as one of my top five. The reason being that it has a narrow depth of field so that the model is in focus where as the background isn’t. The main focus on the model is the jumper hence the pose of the model. They also have direct address with the audience.The lighting of the photo is relatively decent as the time of day was late afternoon.The colour of the clothing fits with the theme of the fashion spread which is ‘grunge’.

The reason I have chosen this photograph as one of my top five is because this was taking without the model realising (mid-action). The photograph has a narrow depth of field so all the focus is on the model, and although the model doesn’t have direct address the main focus is of the jumper.The lighting of the image is fairly good as the light is natural (shot in late afternoon).The only problem with this image is the building in the background.The style of clothing fits well with the theme grunge as the pattern of the jumper is very alternative; the image of the angel statues and the colour scheme of the jumper.

I feel that this image could be used for my fashion spread because the action of the model is simple and it was shot through mid-action. Again there is a narrow depth of field and the main focus is on the jumper; the image and pattern of the jumper can be seen clearly even though the body position of the model is slightly turned to the right (model’s right). The lighting is all natural as it was done in the day (late afternoon).The problem again with this image is the building in the background can be seen heavily.Again the model does not have direct address with the audience.

This photograph is in my top five because I like the way the camera angle is – Titled slightly to the left. This creates the illusion that as the model is leaning to the left, it’s as if they are pulling the image slightly.There is a narrow depth of field within the image so all of the model is in focus, however the main focus of the image is the jumper itself. The problem with the pose of the model is that the image and pattern of the jumper is slightly cut off.Like the rest of the other four images I have chosen, the lighting is all natural.

I feel that this image can be part of my top five because:The model has direct address and the pose of the model enables the main focus of the jumper to be seen as the purpose of the image is the clothing.There is a slight narrow depth of field, however the top half of the model’s head is slightly out of focus.The lighting is natural just like the other images within the potential five.
