Monsoon is the season that brings happiness to our life as it makes the environment cool after the hot and scorching sun rays during the summer.

There are so many fun things that you can do on a rainy day. But a rainy day can be extremely dangerous for you, speaking health wise. Due to consistent spells of rain, humidity settles in and that allows infectious bacteria and viruses to spread faster than ever. Try to avoid eating from outside as much as possible. Street foods like pani puri, bhel puri, sandwiches and pakoras may seem very tempting during this season but they contain bacteria that may cause indigestion.

Also, don’t drink water from outside. Most of the water-borne diseases like dysentery, cholera, etc are caused due to impure water. Street golas, juices and kulfi should be avoided during the monsoons.

If you’ve got wet in the rain, go for a shower to protect yourself from infections. Also, avoid entering an air-conditioned room with wet hair and damp clothes to prevent yourself from a viral fever or cold and cough.

It is extremely important to drink lots of water during the monsoons, so that your system is clean. Boil your drinking water and put chloride in it (for one liter of water put 3-4 drops of chloride) to kill the harmful micro-organisms and other impurities, which might cause diseases.

Wheat, barley, horse gram and green leafy vegetables should be consumed during the monsoons to stay healthy. In case you have a sore throat or throat pain, gargle with lukewarm saline water.Boil tulsi, ginger and honey and drink the juice to treat viral fever. 

Increase your intake of vitamin C to help build resistance against infections and diseases.
