Nestled along the coast of the Gulf of Tonkin, Ha Long Bay is one of the

most beautiful sightseeing destinations in Southeast Asia. Comprised of

2,000 or more limestone islands rising from the sea, Ha Long Bay is often

included in lists of the top natural wonders of the world. It’s an excellent

spot for a relaxing kayak or junk boat ride, and to get a unique view of

the area’s many caves.

Angkor Thom is an ancient

city covering nearly 10

square kilometers. The city

walls once protected a

population of one million

people, and today millions

of visitors pour in each year!

Angkor Thom is dotted with

ancient monuments and

temples, many overgrown

with tree roots and exotic

plants. Visitors describe

Angkor Thom’s lush jungle

setting as otherworldly, and

a destination they won’t

soon forget.

Located a mere kilometer

east of Angkor Thom, Ta

Prohm Temple is a

breathtaking, ancient

destination. Founded in

1186 A.D. as a Mahayana

Buddhist monastery and

university, today the sight

is one of the most visited

areas in Cambodia’s Angkor

region. The temple is

overgrown with jungle

trees and moss, which

gives it a mysterious and

ethereal presence that

visitors love to photograph.

On your excursion through the Angkor region, be sure to see Banteay

Srei. The Hindu temple is smaller than the other sights at Angkor, but

makes up in magnificence what it lacks in stature. Banteay Srei is cut

from red sandstone, with intricate carving paying tribute to Shiva.

Almost every inch of the temple is covered in decoration, including

male and female gods and beautiful filigree work. Visitors come from

around the world to see the splendor of Banteay Srei.

Nestled right along the

banks of the Mekong

River, Phnom Penh is

the largest city of

Cambodia and also its

capital. Bustling and

cosmopolitan, the city

is a stark contrast from

quaint nearby villages.

In Phnom Penh, explore

the Grand Palace,

enjoy the vibrant local

markets and shops,

plus world-class

nightlife and exquisite

restaurants.

The Killing Fields are

comprised of a number of sites

in Cambodia that speak to a

darker time in the country’s

history. Under the Khmer Rouge

regime in the 1970s, the area

was known for its crimes

against humanity and the

Killing Fields are the site of

nearly a million executions.

Today, visitors can tour the

memorials on the grounds and

pay respect to its victims. This

is an educational destination

designed to teach compassion

through history.

Once you cross the border

into Vietnam, be sure to

see the quaint village of Sa

Dec, also known as “Flower

City.” Due to a favorable

local climate and fertile

soil, the village boasts the

most flower farms in South

Vietnam. Visitors can travel

nearby roads to see

farmland dotted with

exotic flowers, or simply

step into Sa Dec’s many

markets for a colorful and

aromatic experience.

The Xeo Quyt Forest (also called Rung Tram) is a vast swamp laid out

beneath a thick canopy of trees and vines. During the rainy season,

visitors can take a canoe tour through the jungle to see old bunkers and

former mine fields. These decrepit relics are flanked by lush foliage like

vines and water hyacinths, a stunning contrast only available in this

incredible region.
