The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an investigation intohistorical sexual assaults between January 1975 and April 1980.

It is alleged that:

− the accused, while working as a choir teacher at Shaarei Shomayim Congregation, at 470Glencairn Avenue, sexually assaulted a boy who was 11 at the time, while at the synagogue

− a second victim, a boy, 13 at the time, was sexually assault by the accused in a home in theWilmington Avenue/Sheppard Avenue West area

On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Harvey Erlich, 58, of Toronto, was arrested and chargedwith:

1) two counts of Gross Indecency

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
