Torquay Foreshore C A R A V A N P A R K

The TORQUAY FORESHORE CARAVAN PARK and Camping Ground is the largest camping ground on the Surf Coast, covering approximately 30 acres of Crown Land reserve. The Park has 640 powered sites, as well as 36 self-contained cabins (16 near the playground). All onsite cabins and units have television, cooking facilities, a toilet and shower - the cabins also have microwaves. The Park backs onto the famous Torquay Surf Beach and features a fully equipped camp kitchen with television, a recreation room and a large commercial-style kitchen for schools and other groups. There are 9 modern amenity blocks (6 with disabled facilities), a well equipped playground and free BBQ facilities. The Park is close to shops, restaurants, the Torquay Golf Club, Torquay Hotel and Tabaret, and buses. Surf factory outlet and retail shops, The Sands Golf Course and Bells Beach are all within a few minutes’ drive. School bookings are welcome.

The Caravan Park and Camping Ground was established over 100 years ago and over this time has seen many great changes to both the caravan park and the foreshore reserve.

The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee (GORCC) was formed in August 2004 as a result of the amalgamation of the five foreshore committees of management who previously managed the areas between Torquay and Lorne. Camping fees have assisted in funding the upgrade of facilities within the Park as well as the maintenance of the 37kms of foreshore managed by GORCC. Ongoing works are of major importance, especially in areas prone to damage from the elements or high visitation rates.

GORCC manages camping grounds, amenity blocks and BBQ’s along the foreshore reserve between Cumberland River at Lorne and Point Impossible at Breamlea, and is responsible for the construction of infrastructure including boardwalks, access stairs and viewing platforms. General maintenance is carried out on a daily basis throughout the year and staff is continually striving to improve, manage and maintain the Reserve.

:: An adult must accompany all children under 7 years of age in the amenity blocks.

:: All cars must be registered at the office prior to entering the Park for the first time.

:: Noise Curfew 10pm.

:: No wood fires.

:: Only one vehicle per site unless authorised by Management.

:: Speed limit of 10 kph must be observed at all times. Speeding and/or reckless driving will result in your vehicle being removed from the Park, and your swipe card being deactivated.

:: Persons staying on the site of relatives or friends must register at the office prior to entering the Park.

:: One tent, van or prefab per site.

:: Power leads must be a minimum 15 amps rating.

ABUSE OF ANY OF THE ABOVE WILL RESULT IN EVICTION AND FORFEITURE OF ALL FEES & SECURITY DEPOSITS.
