ONE VISION. PROVEN SOLUTIONS.

AMS Mechanical throughout its history has worked under just about every contractual relationship possible. We’ve collaborated with owners, A/E firms, general contractors, as well as multiple other subcontractors. We have worked under teaming arrangements, which require various degrees of collaboration. Many of these relationships have been ones we have maintained throughout the history of our company. We have found most of these efforts to be antiquated, and have taken steps to institute the change our industry needs. The construction industry cannot keep applying bandages to a broken method of delivery of services.

We at AMS Mechanical believe this steep change can be made through our Total Integrated Project Program (TIPP) approach to a project. On the next few pages, we will outline this approach. This is not an effort you start when a bid opportunity presents itself. It is an approach you spend time and effort with interested companies to further develop together and allow you to be the team of choice.

Although we have been working together in various contracting methods in some form of collaboration, the only hope is to take this approach to a more intimate level. We believe by mutually developing project execution methods by disciple or work groups, we can then identify best practice of all team members and eliminate waste. This reduces our collective cost and drives efficiency. We see the most effective contracting method to be cost plus fefee (open book) with incentives. We would suggest working in these areas to develop this concept is:• Project Management Plan• Design/Engineering Plan/BIM• Project Controls/Information Management/Lean• Quality Plan• Safety Plan• Industrial Relations Plan• Contracting Plan• Procurement Plan• Risk Management Plan

In order for us to be successful in these areas of collaboration, it is important if not essential for us to have the following principles guide us.

• Key participants bound together as equals• Shared financial risk reward based on outcomes• Liabilities waivers between key participants• Fiscal transparency• Early involvement of key participants• Jointly developed project targets

TOTAL INTEGRATED PROJECT PROGRAM

ONE VISION. PROVEN SOLUTIONS.

AMS has developed and integrated Systems as well as Processes to execute some of the region’s most complex projects. Implementing a higher level of quality assurance and project predictability is our goal. These processes and systems are implemented and adapted to a wide variety of customers, general contractors, and managers. Clients look to AMS to deliver complex projects with challenging conditions and schedules. AMS has management expertise which is often serving as Mechanical Pipe & Vent as well as Plumbing and Electrical contractors for overall services on large-scale projects. AMS is regarded as one of the top MEP contractors in the region and we’ve attained this reputation by completing projects safely, on time, and within budget. We have a fully integrated team that brings unmatched value and this is due to our ability to provide all services in-house. Our integrated team offers services in design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and service/maintenance.

AMS’s backbone to all integration begins with our IT group. AMS has partnered with Microsoft Exchange server to provide messaging and collaborative software products. Through our multiple servers, we can support not only the communication system required of our company but also the robust CAD (in excess of 20 stations), as well as our remote cloud-based server for service and construction. Currently, service and construction utilize in excess of 100 iPads in the field receiving data and CAD files directly to job sites. AMS is very committed to the ongoing evolution in the information technology arenas. As part of that commitment, AMS employs full-time programmers dedicated to developing and maintaining custom applications that target work flow processes and industry demands. Our core systems are primarily built on a Windows platform consisting of domain controllers, application servers, exchange servers, SQL, security hardware/other, web, and FTP capabilities.

AMS Project Execution Systems and Tools are used across all divisions and business units to enable consistent project delivery. AMS is committed to our base system provider Naviswork and Autodesk. We currently have 22 trained experienced drafting designers that are using:

• Auto CAD with Quickpen Pipe Designer(mech., piping, and plumbing)

• Auto CAD with Quickpen Duct Designer• Auto CAD with plant 3D (Refrigeration)• Auto CAD with fabrication

(mech., pipe, duct, and plumbing)• Revit with fabrication

(mech., pipe, duct, and plumbing)• Revit with Sysque (mech., pipe, duct, and plumbing)• Navisworks (3Dmodeling software) with add-on of

I-construct and Sherlock• Glue 360• Benchmark Sheet Metal

AMS continues to enhance our abilities in managing the data produced in the design stages. This improves our productivity and reduces cost. Our estimating group as well as our fabrication shop then use the data obtained from the BIM process. Prefabrication results in better quality control and delivery of modules to reduce field manpower and congestion. Our integrated team in the BIM modeling and coordination process develops a large amount of data. Our efforts today are to take this to a 6D BIM. This will bring all trades together in a composite operating plan of the building. It also will provide cost and scheduling information for construction. The final piece will be to provide actual data to the owner/operator for the maintenance of these new systems.

AMS is currently using estimating software such as Quickpen and Accubid. Both software have the ability to use the data files generated in the modeling process to minimize detail take offs. From there we are able to use a Microsoft-based data tracking system to track cost and productivity in the field. We are also able to link the data from the estimating software to programs such as Primavera and Microsoft to accurately project a schedule.

AMS believes the future is now and we must continue to further innovation in order to be the provider of choice in mechanical markets. We are working with Owners, Engineers, Construction Mangers, and General Contractors to do just that.
