High pressure diaphragm G10 now in steel and brass The Hydra-Cell G10 high pressure,
diaphragm pumps are now available
in a higher pressure version in both
stainless steel and brass options.
Manufactured by Wanner
Engineering, Hydra-Cell pumps are
heavy-duty pumps characterized by
their lack of dynamic seals, enabling
them to be used for liquid transfer,
metering, injection, spraying and
dosing of liquids including chemi-
David Brown, a gear engineering
company specialising in the supply
and servicing of gear products in
the world, has opened a service
centre in Debord, Kentucky, USA.
“The 50,000-square-foot assembly
and service centre will give
customers direct and local access
and adds to David Brown’s service
off ering in the Americas,” said John
McCarthy David Brown’s director,
energy. “We are focused on
providing our customers in the
Americas with vital local expert
gearing support. We will continue
to expand across the continent with
expectations of putting in another
service and assembly facility in the
Gulf Coast region specifi cally for oil
and gas customers.”
David Brown has developed a
global network of operations
including manufacturing facilities
in North America, Europe,
Australasia, Africa, China and sales,
service and support from 20
locations across fi ve continents.
David Brown has the capability to
manufacture industrial gear
products for the Americas through
its acquisition of Canada-based
Unigear in January 2012. The
company also has sales offi ces in
Sao Paulo, Brazil and Santiago,
Chile as well as a service center
Antofagasta, Chile with fi rm plans
to establish several more in the
region.

In 2011, a Flowrox E-series 70/6
progressive cavity pump was deliv-
ered in to Finland’s Stora Enso’s
Ingerois Oy board mill. It is the
world’s largest pressure ground-
wood mill, producing high-quality
mechanical pulp. The E-series 70/6
handles surface sizing glue to
produce multi-layered cardboard.
The E-series 70/6 and became the
fi rst Flowrox pump to be installed
there. Located in a tough
environment, the pump is
exposed to external irritants such
as alkaline washes. Regardless of
these tough conditions, the
E-series 70/6 has been working
without any problems since
installation and without any
requirement for maintenance.
Ingerois Board Mill, established in
1872, stands by the Kymi River in
the city of Kouvola, in the village
of Inkeroinen.

Longer seal and bearinglife in slurry pumping Ensival Moret, a specialist in the
design and manufacturer of
industrial pumps, has developed a
new product line of severe duty
solids handling pumps for the
aggregate, general, chemical, and
mineral processing industries.
The company’s manufacturing,
foundry and R&D teams have
developed the EMW-M extra
heavy-duty metal slurry pump and
the EMW-R extra heavy-duty
rubber slurry pump. The EMW-M is
manufactured from robust hard
iron solids, has optimized hydrau-
lics and attractive maintenance
features.
The EMW-R, the extra heavy-duty
rubber slurry pump, has elastomer
rubber components, off ers addi-
tional fl exibility and is designed
for pumping corrosive and non-
cutting abrasive slurries. The EMW
pump can be converted from
either the metal or rubber confi g-
urations in the fi eld
when conditions
dictate.
Ensival Moret’s EMW heavy-duty pumps are manufactured from robust hard iron solids.
Ensival Moret says that the EMW
heavy-duty pumps have a bearing
life of more than 50,000 hours and
off er shaft seals that are imperme-
able to outside contamination
from equipment wash downs.
Common and available bearings
are used to off er maximum
interchangeability.
The EMW pump range, reports
Ensival Moret, has been designed
with the latest in fl uid fl ow
modeling technologies and fi nite
element analysis, to create the
latest in slurry pumping tech-
nology off ering high hydraulic
effi ciencies for optimized wear life
performance in diffi cult solids
handling applications. The fl ow
capacity ranges up to 4000 m³/h
(17,600 US gpm) and head up to
100 m (330 ft).

cals, solvents, acids, hydrocarbons,
natural gas liquids, alkalis, polymers,
aqueous ammonia, resins, slurries,
wettable powders and more.
Conventionally the G10 has been
rated with a maximum pressure of
70 bar and a maximum fl ow rate
of 30 lpm (litres per minute). The
new versions, with modifi ed fl uid
end engineering, are now rated
with a maximum pressure of
100 bar at a maximum fl ow of
15 lpm, a modifi cation that should
open up many new applications.
Hydra-Cell multi-diaphragm pumps
are characterized by their lack of
dynamic seals and having no
dynamic seals also enables Hydra-Cell
to pump abrasives and dirty fl uids
that may contain abrasive particles.

The Hydra-Cell G10 is designed for transfer
pumping, dosing, injection and metering
applications where complete liquid
containment is essential.
