General Information ORGANISED SHORE EXCURSIONSBooking Direct with Silversea gives you peace of mind. Our local tour operators are fully insured and have been comprehensively vetted. Inthe unlikely event of issues with a Silversea tour, we assume responsibility and the ship will wait for our delayed shore excursion. These areimportant factors when comparing value. Looking for a special program with your travelling companions? In a nod to our Italian heritage,let us reserve for you our Silver Shore “Privato” service - a private vehicle with driver and/or guide. Create your own itinerary or leave it tous. This service is available in most ports which you can reserve on MySilversea (my.silversea.com) or at the Shore Concierge desk onboardfor a truly tailor-made arrangement. Please bear in mind as we traverse many far reaching destinations, the local infrastructure varies and isbeyond our control. Road conditions and vehicles available locally may not be up to standards we are accustomed to. Guides and driversmay speak with a heavy accent at times depending on the port of call. Be assured however that at Silversea, we contract only the best toursand best operators available at each destination. Please Note: Silversea reserves the right to make any changes or modify a tour in case ofunforeseen circumstances and/or to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. BOOKING & CANCELLATION DEADLINESShore excursions must be purchased on or before the booking deadline for each port of call. Tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis; some tours are very popular with guests often ending up being wait-listed: in order to avoid disappointment, it is thereforesuggested to book in advance via my.silversea.com from 120 - 7 days prior to sailing. Last-minute requests to participate on excursions aresubject to space availability, which in some cases may not be determined until departure time pier-side. Please note that certain shoreexcursions may have different reservation deadlines and may incur cancellation fees if cancelled after the deadline. Unless otherwiseindicated in the tour description for a particular shore excursion a 100% cancellation fee will be charged for shore excursions cancelledwithin 48 hours of the scheduled start time. If changes or cancellations are required once onboard, tickets must be returned to the ShoreConcierge desk within the cancellation deadline period. ONLINE ADVANCE RESERVATION OF SHORE EXCURSIONSFor those of you that are not aware, at Silversea you can pre-reserve your excursions at leisure prior to your journey on the internet, log onto MySilversea (my.silversea.com) up to 7 days prior to your sailing date. If you have pre-reserved your excursions on line, your tickets willbe delivered to your suite upon embarkation and all charges will be billed to your shipboard account. ON BOARD RESERVATIONSOnce on board, you may also reserve and purchase your shore excursions. You will find a consolidated tour booking form in your suite andat the Shore Concierge desk. Select the tours in which you wish to participate, then leave the completed and signed form at the ShoreConcierge desk prior to the booking deadline indicated. Tour tickets will be delivered to your suite and your selected excursions chargedto your shipboard account. Overland and exclusive excursions must be pre-paid by credit card through your reservation agents. If stillavailable they may also be purchased on board. Shore excursions require a minimum number of participants in order to operate asdescribed. If this minimum number is not met, Silversea reserves the right to offer the programme at a different rate or to cancel thespecific departure.  SHORE EXCURSION PRICINGPrices are generally quoted per person, per tour, with the exception of Silver Shore Privato or group-designated excursions. In some ports, local information may be found in the touristinformation centre ashore. PORT TALKSThroughout your cruise we’ll be offering Port & Shore Excursion information given by our Shore Concierge Manager and DestinationConsultant prior to arrival in each port of call. Our aim is to give you a travel experience that goes beyond the ordinary and many of yourquestions about our ports of call will be answered in these briefings, giving you more time to enjoy and immerse yourself in each port. Theinformation is presented in the theater or is pre-recorded and played on your in-suite entertainment system. SILVERSEA SHUTTLE SERVICEComplimentary transportation may be provided by Silversea when the local town is beyond a reasonable walking distance from the port.This service may not be possible in ports where a strong taxi union exists, preventing Silversea from providing a complimentary shuttle. Theavailability and schedule for this service will be announced onboard and listed in the Silversea Chronicle. We are not able to advise this inadvance. Operationally, intervals between shuttle bus departures could be affected by local traffic. Silversea is not liable for any unforeseendelays. There will be a break in service for driver meal times. Shuttle service is offered during the day only. The shuttle service is designedto augment local transportation; guests requiring more flexibility may prefer not to wait for a shuttle and secure a taxi at their own expense. CHILDREN ON TOURTo ensure the safety of our younger guests, participation by children in certain shore excursions may be restricted. To ensure the safety ofour younger guests, children up to the age of 8 years old are only permitted to participate in suitable Silver Shore Excursions and theshuttle service, if the vehicles are equipped with the correct safety harness and seating equipment, to accommodate a child. Suchharnesses' and secure seating cannot be guaranteed. Alternately guests may use their own approved safety seat, booster seat or harnessas long as they are compatible with the local touring vehicle and can properly secure the young guest. Silversea reserves the right to refusechildren under the age of 8 years old on any tour on the basis of safety. GRATUITIESGratuities for local guides and drivers are not included in the excursion price. It is customary to tip tour guides and drivers. Such gratuities ifextended, should be done so on a voluntary, individual basis. MOBILE TELEPHONESAs a courtesy to fellow guests, kindly refrain from using mobile telephones while on tour so as not to interfere with the guide’s explanation.Most tours make frequent stops, allowing time for guests to use their mobile telephones. While our organised excursions are not generally geared to the serious shopper, some tours allow for short shopping stops as indicated inthe tour description. In the interest of all tour participants, guests should adhere to the allotted time and return to the tour vehiclepromptly as advised by the tour guide or ship’s escort. Please Note: The selection of shops is generally left to the discretion of the touroperator. Silversea does require that establishments be reputable, of general interest to our guests and offer quality goods.  Experience the spectacular natural splendour of the lunar-like Reykjanes Peninsula during this picturesque flight-seeing excursion.Reykjavik, Reykjanes PeninsulaDepart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the Reykjavík Domestic Airport. Upon arrival, receive your safety and flightinstructions, then board your awaiting airplane and begin your panoramic flight-seeing tour. Fly over the colourful city of Reykjavík beforeheading towards the mossy lava field of the Reykjanes Peninsula, a lunar-like area that has been affected by volcanic eruptions and lava flows formillions of years. Lake Kleifarvatn,Krýsuvík and Gunnuhver Geothermal Fields, Mt. KeilirNext, fly over the mysterious Lake Kleifarvatn, which has been linked to many Soviet spy stories, and the unique and colourful geothermal fieldsof Krýsuvík and Gunnuhver. In addition, pass over the beautiful, cone-shaped Mt. Keilir. Here, you can see the ridge where the American andEuro-Asian tectonic plates drift apart. Reykjavik - Iceland 

REK-A / RELAX IN THE BLUE LAGOON DIFFICULTY 

Price:$159; Duration:4.00 hrs

 Spend a half day experiencing one of Iceland's most famed sites during this relaxing immersion in to the Blue Lagoon.Depart the ship and drive alongside the city lake with a view of the City Hall. Travel past Perlan 'The Pearl,' a glass dome on the top of the hot-water tanks in Reykjavik. Continue through Reykjavik's suburbs, towards Hafnarfjordur. The Blue LagoonDrive through the rugged lava fields of the Reykjanes peninsula towards the Blue Lagoon and stop for approximately two and a half hours toindulge in these waters. The Blue Lagoon owes its existence to the nearby geothermal power plant. The facilities on site offer changing-roomfacilities as well as a tax-free shop and a café. The water of the Lagoon is a steamy 98-102°F (36-39°C), mineral-rich and reputed for its healingproperties. The blue colour of the water, the steam and the thirteen foot (four metre) high lava wall surrounding the Lagoon succeed in creatinga unique atmosphere. This natural and very popular health spa is now a major attraction in the region and considered to be one of the mostvisited places on the island. Return to Reykjavik, over the barren Reykjanes peninsula dominated by old lava-flows. From the Blue Lagoon, head back to Hafnarfjordur via adifferent route. While driving the Reykjanesbraut, see the Heidmork outdoor recreation area and the residential areas of Reykjavik. Continuealong the coastline returning to the pier. Please note: This tour involves little walking along a paved pathway and is suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who utilize awheelchair. Guests must be able to embark and disembark the coach, and to get in to and out of the Blue Lagoon. Pregnant women areadvised to check with their doctor/health care worker before taking this tour. Even though the Blue Lagoon is not particularly deep guests doneed to be able to swim in order to participate on this tour. Children must be at least 2 years of age to participate and children under the ageof 12 must wear an inflatable vest provided by the lagoon and should not be left unaccompanied at any time in the Lagoon.  Reykjavík, with about 120,000 inhabitants, is certainly among the smallest capital cities in the world. This sightseeing tour takes you on a journeyto some of Reykjavík's most noteworthy sites.The journey begins with a drive through Laugardalur Valley, the city's main sports and recreational area. We pass the Olympic sized, open-airswimming pool that is filled with geothermal water. The pool is one of the most popular swimming pools in the city and is filled with localssocialising year-round. Árbær open-air museumThe tour continues to Árbær open-air museum where we'll enjoy a pleasant walk among the historical buildings located there. The museum wasfounded due to growing concern that "old Reykjavik" was disappearing forever. The city council created a public park and regional museum topreserve historical buildings from around the country. PerlanFrom the Árbær museum we'll continue to one of the city's landmark buildings, Perlan ("The Pearl").The building itself is architecturallyinteresting - its dome consists of reflecting glass panels on a hollow steel frame. Perlan has a viewing platform on top of the hot-water tankswhich extends full circle, offering splendid views over the city. National MuseumFrom Perlan we'll head to The National Museum. The museum is dedicated to communicating knowledge of Iceland's cultural heritage from thetime of its pioneering settlement to the present day. From The National Museum, the tour ends with a drive through the old quarter of Reykjavíkwith its charming colourful houses.  Please note: This tour requires a minimal amount of walking is suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who utilise a wheelchair;however, guests must be able to embark and disembark the coach via the bus steps. The order of sites seen or visited may vary. Operation ofthis tour is subject to minimum participation.

 REK-J / 4X4 SUPER-TRUCK ADVENTURE DIFFICULTY

 Get ready for an action-packed Super truck adventure during this amazing journey through some of Iceland's most stunning terrain.Nowhere but in Iceland will one find vehicles like the ones we use on this tour. Crafted for uniquely tough conditions and rugged terrain even aterm for them had to be invented; "Super Trucks". The vehicles are the result of decades of technical innovation and development. Hengill Volcano, Lake Thingvallavatn and Nesjavellir Power PlantShortly after heading out of Reykjavík we'll drive up the mountain Úlfarsfell, where we'll have a spectacular view over Reykjavík and the bay. Fromthere we'll continue to the Mountain Hengill area. Hengill is an active volcano, evidenced by its numerous hot springs and fumaroles, but the lasteruption occurred approximately 2000 years ago. The volcano is an important source of energy for the south of the country, which is captured atthe Nesjavellir power station. Near Nesjavellir we'll stop at a vantage point with a panoramic view over the large Lake Þingvallavatn and thebeautiful region called Bláskógar ("Blue forests"). Hveragerði Village and Thousand Waters TrailContinuing on we'll drive a gravel road along the lake and from there through lush woodlands to Hveragerði Village. There we will make a shortcomfort stop before continuing on our adventure. After re-boarding the Super Trucks we head off the beaten track, by way of a trail known as "The Thousand Waters". Our convoy winds its waythrough numerous rivers, mud banks and streams. Enjoy the ride and savour the unique opportunity of experiencing Iceland's untamed nature.After all this excitement the trucks continue on an effortless drive back to Reykjavík harbour. Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of off-road driving and a minimal amount of walking for approximately 200 yards (about200 metres), at times over uneven, natural and icy surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the off-road vehicle.
