Custom Duty, VAT and PAL exemptions on Imports of Capital Goods for Large Scale and Strategic Import Replacements Undertakings

For the importation of Project related plant, machinery or equipment, the applicable customs duty, VAT and PAL will be deferred/exempted during the project implementation period and said deferment will be treated as an exemption on the fulfillment of the conditions specified by the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.

Any Other project related construction materials not falling under the above will be exempted from PAL Subject to the negative list. However, if such articles are not obtainable in Sri Lanka, DG-BOI could accommodate valid request made by the investor.

5%For large scale projects, PALwill be differed for plant,machinery or equipment and exempted for project related articles (not being plantmachinery or equipment)
