IntroductionAndaman and Nicobar are the group of islands at the junction of Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea.Also an Union Territory of India.The territorys capital is Andamanese town of Port Blair.The capital of Nicobar Island is Car Nicobar.

HistoryRajendra Chola I, one of the Tamil chola dynasty kings, conquered the Andaman and Nicobar island to use them as naval expedition.During World War II, the Islands were under the control Japanese control.In 1945 the Islands were recaptured by the Britishers.

At the Independence of both India and Burma the Islands became the part of India in 1950 and was declared as Union Territory in 1956.

Tourist AttractionsCellular jail: Also known as kala paani (Black water) was a colonial prison used by Britishers. Batukeshwar Dutt and Veer Savarkar and many more freedom fighters were imprisoned here.Barren Island: It is the only confirmed active volcano in south asia.Baratang: One of the main islands of Great Andaman is famous for its mud volcanoes.
