The McCartney Invitation Tournament 2013

Taupo Association Football Club

Thanks to the following for your support

Tauhara College for the use of the fields

The Sportsshop, Taupo

“football at its best is a game of beauty and intelligence..”

A huge welcome again to all our regulars and to those who are making their first trip to this famous event which is now in its ninth year.

In this information booklet we hope you will find everything you need to help make this event as user friendly as possible. If you need to know something that is not here, please feel free to ask any one of our many volunteers you will find around at the weekend.

I know I rattle this story out each year but this event started when a team made an end of season trip to Taupo and asked for a game, a couple of quick phone calls and year one saw eight teams on the park. This has grown over the years to the one hundred and thirty that will invade the park this weekend. This is now without doubt the biggest junior football tournament in the country, made possible by all of you.

From its inception this was all about fun and participation for players and parents alike, so whilst I know we all like to win, please remember why we are here, fun and participation.

An event like this takes many months of planning and countless hours of work behind the scenes so I would like to thank everyone for giving up their time for this special weekend.

The complaints department is closed from 5pm Friday 11th October to 8am Monday 14th October.
