From November 7, 2017 Proposed Speed Limit Reduction on Leslie St. - York Region staff have notified the Town that they are proposing a speed limit revision/reduction to 60km/h on Leslie St. north of Doane Rd. near the new Queensville Properties. This recommendation will be made as part of the Region’s 2018 Annual Speed Limit Reduction Report in April 2018. Final speed limits and the full scope of the reduction will be finalized as part of the report. Mount Albert Rd. Signalization Public Information Centre (PIC) - York Region will be hosting a PIC on November 27, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the Ross Family Complex. Regional staff will be on hand to explain the rationale for the signals, discuss alternative solutions, listen to the public’s concerns, answer questions and provide next steps. McCowan Rd. Bridge Update - McCowan Rd. remains closed between Queensville Sdrd. and Holborn Rd. to build a new bridge. Construction of the new bridge is proceeding as planned and the road is scheduled to re-open on Friday, December 22, 2017. Animal Shelter -The Town is pleased to announce that we have entered into a five-year contract with the Towns of Aurora, Georgina, and Newmarket for the provision of animal shelter services. This joint initiative is just one example of the Northern Four (N4) municipalities working together to save money and create efficiencies and service improvements for residents. As part of the partnership, the N4 will also look into future possibilities of alignment of animal control services, wildlife services and education and pet licensing programs. Immediate family members of deceased veterans may ride for free by presenting an item that identifies their relationship like identification cards or service papers. WINTER PARKING REMINDER The Town has a year-round three-hour parking limit on all Town roads. On street parking is prohibited on Town roads during snow events and vehicles that interfere with snow clearing may be ticketed. HOLLAND LANDING LAGOONS MAINTENANCE Routine maintenance has begun on the Holland Landing Lagoons and is expected to be completed by January 2018.
