Breakdown

It is important to know that fluoride accumulates in the bones,1 weakening them, poten-

tially leading to osteoporosis,2 hip fractures,3 impaired thyroid function,4 and much more. Although it occurs naturally in our water, we are bombarded by fluoride daily through many different means.

Million Dollar Dreams

Water fluoridation began in the 1940’s-60’s, depending on the city. In the example of Toronto, Canada, the City currently pays approximately $2 million annually to fluori-date the water supply.5,6,7 When these figures are totaled over a decade or more, the val-ues are no longer considered insignificant. Water fluoridation is a waste of millions of tax dollars especially when you consider that 99.5% of it is not used for drinking wa-ter.

Danger Zone

Let’s take a look at the undeniable facts about water fluoridation.

Toxicity

According to the EPA, fluoride is among the list of “Chemicals with Sub-stantial Evidence of Developmental Neurotoxicity”, alongside arsenic, co-caine, and LSD.8

IQ

There are now 37 separate studies linking fluoride to reduced IQ.9 Recently, a team of Harvard scientists took 27 of these studies and reviewed them. They found mountains

of evidence clearly indicating that “children in high fluoride areas had significantly lower IQ scores than those who lived in low fluoride areas.”10

Cancer

Studies including one conducted at the Harvard School of Dental Health have found links between fluoride and bone cancer.11 A study published in Cancer Causes and Con-trol states that “boys who grew up in communities that added at least moderate levels of fluoride to their water got bone cancer—osteosarcoma—more often than boys who drank water with little or no fluoride.”12

Infertility

In a twelve-week study on male rats, there was a clear indication of reduced fertility (as well as reduced testosterone) caused by ingestion of fluoride.13

The 2006 National Research Council report indicates high concentrations of fluoride have adverse effects on reproduction and may decrease fertility.14

Neurological Effects

The same Harvard group noted above has concluded that fluoride exposure may have adverse effects on children's neurodevelopment.10

The NRC reported in 2006 that fluoride has “the ability to interfere with the functions of the brain."15

Undeniable Truth

Proponents of fluoridation state that the amount added to our water supply has no ad-verse health effects. Those who suggest this don't un-derstand the truth about mass medication: you can-not control the dosage.

An infant may receive the same amount as a pregnant woman, who receives the same as an Olympic ath-lete.

High levels of fluoride are already in toothpaste. Fluo-

ride is used as a pesticide in agriculture.17 It is used in rat poison.18,19

Tea has naturally high levels of fluoride.20 Most non-stick coating in cookware is made

from a fluoride compound.21 Medications such as Prozac have high levels of fluoride.22,23

It is evident that we already receive mass amounts of fluoride without paying millions to add this to our water supply.

The Deception

It is clear that fluoride is a health risk for all citizens. However, most cities use a sub-stance called hydrofluosilicic acid as its “fluoride” compound.6 As noted by Dr. Rus-sell Blaylock, this has never been tested in laboratory experiments.

This dangerous chemical is obtained from smoke-stack scrubbers of fertilizer and metal factories. Unfortunately, this toxic waste also contains arsenic, cadmium, mer-cury, lead, and radioactive elements.16

Effect Change

Since 2010, over 125 communities from around the world have listened to the in-formed and concerned citizens and have removed fluoride from the water supply.24

Change in our political system is certainly possible. In the case of Calgary, Canada, in 2011, the City council in Calgary voted to remove it and has successfully passed.25,26

This dangerous substance should be immediately removed from all water supplies. It poses a hazard to our health especially when considering that this chemical isn’t even what it’s claimed to be. It’s literally toxic waste.
