Toyo Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was established in 1909 as Yamada Nokigu Seisakujo (“Yamada Farm Equipment Factory”) and began to produce animal-driven farm equipment. In 2009, we celebrated our 100th anniversary. As an “agri-partner” who always listens to our customers, we are committed to developing innovative agricultural machines and have contributed to the development of better farm management and labor saving practices. All of us in the company thank you for the support you have given us in our endeavors. Today, with growing demand for safe and reliable products and price competition from abroad, agriculture in Japan is going through difficult times. For agricultural machinery, too, there is now a wider variety of demands, including those for cost reduction and environmental friendliness. However, we consider these demands to be missions given to us, and we strive for technical innovation and offer systems and services that meet the needs of our customers through our new products. Assembling a machine

The Research and Development Department, using a 3D CAD system, develops new products and improves existing agricultural machines. For the development, design and improvement of agricultural machines, we fully utilize feedback and questionnaires from customers, information gleaned from seminars, and experiment data from the fields.

The technology and experience that we as a manufacturer of upland farming machines have accumulated over the years, is utilized in various projects with public institutes. We have proven ourselves in the areas of large scale farming, precision agriculture and environmental preservation.

In order to accommodate a wide variety of customers’ needs in mechanized farming (e.g., laser processing machines), we update production lines to achieve a high level of safety and efficiency at a low cost. With regard to our main products, which include potato harvesters, boom sprayers and beet harvesters, in order to accommodate a wide variety of requests from the customers who operate the machines, we provide a different combination of attachments for each machine according to the soil and landform of the fields where it is actually used.

We have adopted PPORF (Practical Program of Revolution in Factories) to support the fundamental renovation of our production systems. By focusing on the four “S” activities of seiri (organization), seiton (tidiness), seiketsu (cleanliness) and seiso (cleaning), the organization strives to reduce production costs and enhance the quality of its output, thereby delivering better products to customers. In addition to daily activities based on employee teamwork, an annual multilevel PPORF meeting is held every December to discuss the reform and innovation of commercial operations, set goals for the next year and clarify the direction of the organization’s advancement.

In order to best serve our customers and regions across Hokkaido, we have established offices around Hokkaido and worked hard to build trust with customers. Our network exists to reflect customer feedback in our products and local characteristics in their specifications. We are continually developing our network to be able to closely respond to a wide variety of requests.

We have thousands of spare parts in stock and our skilled service engineers are always ready to go into action. Our service cars, which carry equipment that changes according to seasonal needs, enable us to provide customers with prompt service. In winter, we provide maintenance of the machines used during the farming season so they will give optimum performance at the beginning of the next farming season.

The skills required to best utilize agricultural machines vary depending on regions. We think it is important for us as a machine manufacturer and supplier to get feedback on operation data under severe conditions, to exchange information, and to provide consulting services. We hold seminars and opinion exchange meetings on how technology is used in various places, including Toyonoki Potato Harvester Meetings. Through the provision of information, we try to improve agricultural productivity and machine operation skills.
