Class 23: Retrained Racehorse Challenge. Mare or gelding 4yrs old or over and of any height. Riders must be 15 years old or over on the 1st January. Horses to be ridden in any suitable bridle and should be plaited. The first 3 qualify for the final at Royal Windsor Show 2016. All entries must be registered with RoR and HAVE raced in GB. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15 years or over. Horses will NOT be ridden by the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retrain-ing of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force’Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series

The class to be judged 50% jumping 15% Style while jumping and performance. 20% awarded for individual show and 15% suitability to be retrained. PHASE 1Jumping to be judged: 6 rustic jumps ( 2’ 9”) with 2 optional bonus fences (3’3”)The following points to be deducted at the end of each jumping round: 4 points to be deducted for a knock down. 4 points to be deducted for a refusal. 8 points for second refusal. 3 refusals at any fence elimination 50 marks maximum (5 each fence for 6 fences and 10 for each bonus fence if bonus fence jumped clear)15 extra marks style and performance while jumping.PHASE 2Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show/conformation. (In some classes, at the judge’s discretion, horses might be asked to do a ‘show’ following their jumping without leaving the ring. This is often the case with a large number in the class)Each horse to complete an individual show of no longer than 1 ½ minutes. Show to include the following movements:Walk, Trot, canter showing change of leg, extended canter (gallop) halt and stand, walk off on long rein. Total marks out of 20 (to include performance,) amount of retraining, suitability to diversify)

Each horse to be presented in front of the judge, ridden and prior to phase 2 for suitability to be retrained. Total marks 15Racing injuries and blemishes will be IGNORED.

Class 24: The Tattersalls and RoR Thoroughbred Ridden Show Horse Class Entries limited to 20Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first three go forward to the championship at the Royal Highland Show 2016. All entries MUST be registered with the ROR and have RACED in GB. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15years or over. The class will be run under the rules of RoR. Horses to be ridden by the judge. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force’Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap.Racing injuries and blemishes will NOT be ignored in this series

SIDE SADDLEJudge: Miss Linda Cadman, Oldham

Entry Fee: Non-members £12.00 / Members £9.00Prize Money: 1st £15; 2nd £10; 3rd £5. Rosettes to 6th place.

Class 25: Side Saddle Association OPEN Equitation Championships Qualifying Class. (Run under SSA Rules defined in the current Members Handbook). Open to SSA Members and Non-Members. Registered Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and SSA Champi-onship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed member under 14 on 1st January of the current year. Side Saddle International offers a rosette to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior Member, judged to be best turned out. The class is a QUALIFIER FOR THE SIR LANCELOT MEMORIAL TROPHY. A Special rosette will be offered to the Registered Adult Member, carrying their current Championship Points Cards, of the North of England SSA Area, who during the Equitation class (irrespective of final placing), is judged to be the most elegant. That member will be eligible to compete in the Final for the Sir Lancelot Memorial Trophy (donated by the late Mrs E Skelton) at the National Side Saddle Show. A member may only qualify once per season between one National Show and the next, if the judges first choice has already qualified, the rosette will be awarded to the next eligible competitor.

Class 26: Side Saddle Concourse d’Elegance. The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse and rider. Attention may be paid to the rider’s personal appearance but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress or period costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask groups of three or four riders to give short displays. 4 special rosettes will be awarded: to the highest placed Adult Members wearing a silk hat, bowler hat, safety hat and the highest placed Junior Member of the S.S.A carrying their current Championship Points Cards. N.B. Silk hats are permitted to be worn by Adults in this class AT ANY TIME OF DAY. Juniors must wear hats to current British Safety Standards or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

Class 27: Side Saddle Riding Club Horse/Pony Open Class. Open to horses and ponies 4 years old or over. Riders will be required to give a short show including a small jump, maximum 2’ (61cms).
