Class 23: Retrained Racehorse Challenge. Mare or gelding 4yrs old or over and of any height. Riders must be 15 years old or over on the 1st January. Horses to be ridden in any suitable bridle and should be plaited. The first 3 qualify for the final at Royal Windsor Show 2016. All entries must be registered with RoR and HAVE raced in GB. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15 years or over. Horses will NOT be ridden by the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retrain-ing of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force’Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series

The class to be judged 50% jumping 15% Style while jumping and performance. 20% awarded for individual show and 15% suitability to be retrained. PHASE 1Jumping to be judged: 6 rustic jumps ( 2’ 9”) with 2 optional bonus fences (3’3”)The following points to be deducted at the end of each jumping round: 4 points to be deducted for a knock down. 4 points to be deducted for a refusal. 8 points for second refusal. 3 refusals at any fence elimination 50 marks maximum (5 each fence for 6 fences and 10 for each bonus fence if bonus fence jumped clear)15 extra marks style and performance while jumping.PHASE 2Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show/conformation. Class 24: The Tattersalls and RoR Thoroughbred Ridden Show Horse Class Entries limited to 20Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first three go forward to the championship at the Royal Highland Show 2016. All entries MUST be registered with the ROR and have RACED in GB. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15years or over. The class will be run under the rules of RoR. Horses to be ridden by the judge. SIDE SADDLEJudge: Miss Linda Cadman, Oldham


Class 25: Side Saddle Association OPEN Equitation Championships Qualifying Class. (Run under SSA Rules defined in the current Members Handbook). Open to SSA Members and Non-Members. Registered Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and SSA Champi-onship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed member under 14 on 1st January of the current year. Side Saddle International offers a rosette to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior Member, judged to be best turned out. The class is a QUALIFIER FOR THE SIR LANCELOT MEMORIAL TROPHY. A Special rosette will be offered to the Registered Adult Member, carrying their current Championship Points Cards, of the North of England SSA Area, who during the Equitation class (irrespective of final placing), is judged to be the most elegant. That member will be eligible to compete in the Final for the Sir Lancelot Memorial Trophy (donated by the late Mrs E Skelton) at the National Side Saddle Show. A member may only qualify once per season between one National Show and the next, if the judges first choice has already qualified, the rosette will be awarded to the next eligible competitor.

Class 26: Side Saddle Concourse d’Elegance. The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse and rider. Attention may be paid to the rider’s personal appearance but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress or period costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask groups of three or four riders to give short displays. 4 special rosettes will be awarded: to the highest placed Adult Members wearing a silk hat, bowler hat, safety hat and the highest placed Junior Member of the S.S.A carrying their current Championship Points Cards. N.B. Silk hats are permitted to be worn by Adults in this class AT ANY TIME OF DAY. Juniors must wear hats to current British Safety Standards or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

Class 27: Side Saddle Riding Club Horse/Pony Open Class. Open to horses and ponies 4 years old or over. Riders will be required to give a short show including a small jump, maximum 2’ (61cms). The height may be adjusted during the course of the class at the Judge’s discretion. The class shall be judged on the show, the manners of horse/pony, and its suitability for the rider. Conformation will not be considered. A Special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Registered Adult and Registered Junior Members of the S.S.A. carrying their current Championship Points Cards. Hats to current British Safety Standards or above must be worn for this class.

Championship: For 1st and 2nd Prize Winners in Classes 25, 26 and 27.

Class 28: Side Saddle Open Working Hunter - unaffiliated WHP RING 2 Judges - Mrs C Hyde & Mrs E Livesey, Lancs

Open to Horses and ponies, riders any age. Maximum height 2ft 3ins. The spread of fences shall not exceed the height.

QUALIFICATIONS (B.S.P.S.) 59/15This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (BSPS), and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes, whether or not members of the BSPS are subject to the Rules of the BSPS, including the disciplinary procedures, and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS.

This Show is a qualifier for the 2015 BSPS Championship Show to be held at Arena UK. The 1st and 2nd Prize winners only in the following Classes, 30, 32-34, 44-47, 61, 62, 64, 65, 66 and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizewinners in Classes 29, 35, 48, 54-55 & 67 and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Prizewinners in Class 31, 43 & 63 will qualify, provided the pony is registered in accordance with Rules 23 and 28 and is ridden by a BSPS Member. This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year. 1st and 2nd prize winners in the following classes - Open WHP & Int WH (32 - 35), Open SHP (44 - 47), Int SRT/SH (48 & 67), Lead Rein / First Ridden 61, 62 Open SP (64-66) will qualify.

Owners and Riders must be BSPS members and the pony registered with the BSPS to compete in classes with Blue Riband qualification.THE BSPS CLASSIC SECURITY UK LTD CHALLENGEAll summer qualifying shows that are affiliated to the BSPS are qualifiers for the “The BSPS Classic Security UK LTD Challenge” ponies qualify as follows: Open Working Hunter Ponies, Open Show Hunter Ponies, Open Intermediate SH, SRT and WH and Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden and WHP classes that has not qualified for the 2015 Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate class, will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the “BSPS CLASSIC SECURITY UK LTD CHALLENGE”, the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony.

This show is a qualifier for the ‘BSPS Black Country Saddles Best Rider of the Year’ in each of the following classes 44 (122cms), 45 (133cms), 46 (143cms) and 47 (153cms) SHP., Cradle Stakes, Nursery Stakes, 133cms, 143cms and 153cms WHP., Intermediate SH and WH classes. Open Herit-age Ridden and WHP Classes to riders who have not attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year, in the Heritage Ridden and WHP, LR, FR, SP & INT SRT Classes will receive a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the BSPS Summer Championships Show.

This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Premier League. The qualification will be awarded to all BSPS Affiliated Shows for the following classes that are NOT qualifiers for RIHS or HOYS.Classes: LR, FR, SP & INT SRT, Lead Rein Hunter Type, Cradle Stakes, Nursery Stakes, 133cms, 143cms, 153cms Working Hunter Pony, 153cms and 158cms Intermediate Show Riding, Intermediate Show Hunter and Intermediate Working Hunter classes, Heritage Classes.
