Nikki & Mikayla took their horses to Bairnsdale Pony Club on Sunday 19/07/09 to learn more about jumping. They were able to not only con-solidate their D grade jumping, but also had the opportunity to stretch themselves and their horses

in the C grade ring. Julie Cunningham gave the girls expert instruction to help them improve their skills and knowledge. Both girls told TPC Tack & Talk “the day was a great experience and will try and go back again next year too.”

Welcome everybody to the new finan-cial year for 2009/2010. All new PCAV cards have arrived and are waiting to be put into your vinyl card holders. They are pale blue and there is also a pale blue medical armband informa-tion card also. Medical information cards will be changed each year to match the color of your PCAV cards. This is to encourage parents and rides to update information each year.

Please do not forget to sign the atten-dance sheet at each rally. This is what is used to record your attendance and which mount you are riding on your cards. If you have not signed atten-dance sheet, preferably before lunch, you will be marked absent on your card.

If you are at the rally and helping out, please sign attendance sheet as “unmounted”

There have been a few events happen-ing around the area lately. If you have any photos or “stories’ you would like to share, please forward them to Andy.

We will be having a “Chocolate Fund-raiser” to help raise funds for the club. Chocolates will be distributed at Au-gust rally and all monies and any un-sold chocolates to be returned at Sep-tember rally. Happy riding everybody. Shelley

coaches how to do this with the different levels of riders. Brian Lavery, International Course Builder from South Af-rica, showed those interested in course building the various principles involved in planning and building show jumping courses, and then the partici-pants went out and built the course used later by the riders. Annie White explained the ins and outs of judging show jump-ing, after which those attending that session judged the riders for their rounds.

Steve Bragg had lots of gear for the Gear checkers to look at, particularly some of the West-ern style saddlery that a lot of us are not so familiar with. The biggest problem for the day seemed to be making the deci-sion of what to do, because we would have liked to do it all! Another excellent day. Thanks Megan for organising it, and the soup was delicious. Yvonne Morrison is taking coaches & riders for Dressage on the Sunday. I wish I could have been there too.

The "Training the Trainers " clinic held at the Bairnsdale Pony Club grounds this week-end had many enthusiastic par-ticipants learning more about show jumping on the Saturday. What a great lineup of present-ers! Yvonne Morrison presented sessions for both riders & coaches, firstly explaining what the coaches should be aiming towards for both horses and riders, then showing the

assisting police with their enquiries however the pony has not been located. ‘Pocket Money’ is a 12-year-old bay gelding with a white blaze and he is 12 hands in height.

Police believe that the pony is still in the Gippsland area and are seeking information and assis-tance from the public to locate him. Police also believe that whoever is currently in possession of the pony may not be aware of the fact that he is stolen. Detectives understand that the pony may have been sold to an innocent buyer. Any person with information is asked to contact either Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au

Police are investigating the disap-pearance of a child’s pony from a Moe farm on 5 March 2009. The much-loved pony ‘Pocket Money’ belongs to a Wodonga family but had been staying at a farm in Becksbridge Road Moe. The pony disappeared from the farm on the day it was due to be returned to the owners. Police are treating the pony’s dis-appearance as a theft. A 38-year-old Moe man and a 39-year-old Moe woman have been
